Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1959 Chevrolet Apache 3200 pick-up. This is an original California truck that has spent its entire lifetime in North County San Diego. There have been a total of three owners. My family is the third owner. Mileage is 108,000 miles. If you do the math...That is just under 2000 miles a year. Truck has served the previous two owners as a farm truck. and continues to do so performing light work duty on our small avocado ranch located outside Fallbrook, California, "The Avocado Capital Of The Nation." Truck has been used only to run to local irrigation supply, packing houses, hardware stores, assorted light hauling and errand running...Thus the incredibly low mileage for a 55 year old vehicle. This is an UNRESTORED truck. Yes...You read correctly...Unrestored...Simply well maintained and well loved by all owners. This is not a "barn find"...But a truck that has been parked in barns and keep out of the elements all its life. Again...NOT restored...Just very well taken care of. If something broke, it got repaired. Parts have been replaced on an as-needed basis. Truck was repainted by the second owner. Color is a light turquoise. Because of being kept out of the elements, paint is in excellent condition with the to-be-expected nicks, chips and scratches a working truck gets. Body is very straight with minor surface rust in cab footwells/bed step sides. Wheel wells and any exposed sheet metal under the truck have always been undercoated. Wood in bed is original. Bench seat has been reupholstered in original template pattern. Headliner has been replaced. Rubber floor mat has been replaced. There is new carpet ( full cab) under rubber mat. Radio has been replaced with more modern Custom Autosound cassette/AM/FM with a 6-disk CD player under the bench seat. There are four speakers...two 4" inch speakers mounted in the passenger/drivers footwell/kick-panel areas...And two 6" x 9" speakers in boxes behind the bench seat. Truck is pictured with a Sirius satellite antenna (above windshield center). A Sirius receiver will be included, but is not hooked up yet. Engine is 6-cylinder 235 CI "Thriftmaster" with 3-speed ( three-on-the-tree) transmission. Engine is in very sound condition and purrs like a little In-line Six kitten. Fuel pump, fuel lines, cap,rotor/wires/plugs, belt, hoses have all been recently replaced. Stock OEM oil bath air filter is included although not pictured. Tires (including spare) are fresh. Heater core in cab heater box has recently been replaced. Now the heater box fan motor needs to be replaced. Windshield wiper motor also needs replacement. Turn signals have mysterious gremlin we cannot locate. Luckily, out here in the country we have been able to get by using hand signals for the past couple of years ! We would truly love to keep this unique truck in our family, but the drought here in California has had a huge financial impact on our Avocado business. All in all...This California truck is well sorted and nothing major is needed...Just another owner who will love and care for this VERY rare, well preserved example of a 1959 Apache. Best Of Luck on bidding. On Sep-27-14 at 09:43:15 PDT, seller added the following information: There have been several requests from bidders/watchers for additional pictures of the bed.
