Vehicle Detail

1958 International Harvester A-140 4 x 4 Fire Support Truck with Seagrave Conversion Just brought out of barn storage, where it's been stored for the 9 years I have owned it. One of only 414 units ever produced by International, this has the original 4-wheel drive components provided at the factory in Springfield, Ohio. The "A" model International was only produced from 1958-1961. I have a copy of the original line setting ticket, noting production on July 9, 1957. Seagrave Conversion/components were added on Oct, 15, 1957 for use with the City of Columbus, Ohio Fire Department. Options include:GVW 11,000 lbs. as rated by International, but actually 15,000 lbs. (combination of front and rear axle ratings)FA 50 front axle - 5000 lb. Eaton design (6.16 gear ratio)Rear springs with auxiliaryS-20 HD Ross steering gear10" clutchBD 240 inline 6 International gas engine (Black Diamond)Oil filterT-10 4-speed manual transmission (1st gear 6.86:1 and 4th 1:1T-152 transfer case Rockwell 4 -shaft 2-speed case (2:1 and 1:1)RA 20 single rear axle - 10,000 lb. Eaton design (6.16 gear ratio)21 gal undercab tankHeater/defrosterDual electric windshield wipersFront wheels - 7.00x18.00; dual rear wheels 9.00x18.00 off road lugsSeagrave items: Working siren and red flashing light, Emergency vehicle roof cab light, dual PTO-powered hose reels w/hoses; 3 - firehose segments with connectors Needs brakes/master cylinder from setting, radiator has small hole due to damage while stored, but all around a great restorable project for any International lover or fire department!!!! Purchased from road contractor who purchased from the City of Columbus, Ohio, whom I believe to be the original owner, Contractor used in parades only. Payment is cashier's check or cash only within 14 days of sale. Deposit of $500 at successful bid required through Paypal at time of bid closing. Thanks for looking - Good luck! Additional note: Several questions about floorboard panels. Floorboards were covered with aluminum street signs, so I removed and took pictures. Floorboard metal would have to be replaced, but is certainly possible. Glove box door panel is gone and is not with the truck On Sep-24-14 at 16:25:26 PDT, seller added the following information: Vehicle is also for sale locally.
