Mercedes 300D 2.5 Turbo in beautiful condition. This car has been garage kept for most of it's life as you can see by the condition of the paint. The steering is tight, the engine runs smooth,, the transmission shifts perfectly. The interior is in ver good condition with the usual wear and tear for a car of this age, the exterior looks like new with a couple very small dings that are barely noticeable. It has new tires and new glow plugs. There is no rust and it has not been smoked in. History - I was in need of a reliable, safe car that got excellent fuel mileage for a weekly commute from S.W. Virginia to NYC. After a careful search I bought this car from the second owner (title shows he was the third owner because the first owner transferred the title to a family member). The original owner was an elderly man who had the car maintained by Mercedes. The second owner was a collector who kept the car in his garage for nine years and put about a thousand miles on it per year. When I bought the car there were several mechanical things that needed attention. I replaced the tires, belts, rear shocks and rear brakes. There is a small chip in the windshield on the passenger side that has not changed in over 40k miles. The antenna needs to be replaced, the cruise control is not working (most likely a control module). The front power windows roll down but will not roll back up unless the car is turned off and then turned back on (I believe the comfort control module needs to be replaced, I have one on order). I rarely drive with the windows down so this did not demand my immediate attention. I was in a fender-bender which left a scuff on the rear bumper so I had it replaced. This was my first diesel. I became so impressed with it that I bought a new one. I absolutely love this car and would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. It always starts on the first turn of the key, it is roomy, comfortable, smooth and safe. It often gets over 33mpg on the highway and sips fuel around town. This particular model is one of the best cars that ever Mercedes built. I regret having to sell it since I enjoy driving it so much but I have too many cars and need to make room.
