Vehicle Detail

I'm selling off some of the MOPAR herd and offering up my '55 Dodge Custom Royal Lancer two door hardtop up for sale. This car came to me from Northridge California and is super, super solid. This is why I begin with cars from the west coast or high desert because here on the east coast where I live they are not to be found without lots of rust. I will never restore another rusty car, it just makes sense to start with a nicer, rust free car. This car started life in a great color combination of pink and white. Somewhere over the years the owners changed it inside and out to green and white but vestiges of the original color combination are peeking through everywhere. It's equipped with the 270 Red Ram hemi, powerflite transmission, power steering, manual brakes, signal seek radio, dual mirrors, full wheel covers, and two tone paint. It has the dress up chrome valve covers and a new master cylinder comes with it as well. The car is 100% complete right down to the bumper jack and it is very, very solid by any standards. The only rust is the floor pans and there are just two or three spots that are easily repairable with minor patches without any need to replace the full pans. All of the outside panels are straight and all of the glass is good with the exception of the right door glass but getting one cut to pattern is easily done. The trim missing in the pics around the windshield is with the car. It appears as a previous owner replaced the windshield and rear window gaskets and never reinstalled the trim. I also have a few pics of extra trim that goes with the car. I will also offer two NOS mirrors for the car at a reasonable price to the new owner if they want them. The interior as I mentioned earlier had been redone at some point but the original black and white vinyl with silver piping is still present beneath the redo in all areas except the front seat. I have not tried to fire the engine but it turns over freely and I was told it ran. This is a "Custom Royal Lancer" with amber front turn signals which will denote it as a late year production model. Up until mid year the two door hardtops did not have the "Royal" attached to the Lancer name. This car deserves a redo or complete professional restoration in my opinion and I am thinning out my MOPAR stock to fund a vacation home in North Carolina so this one sadly has to go. Some of you may have seen the car at last year's Hershey meet and the price was admittedly very, very high. I was testing the waters. The reserve is much, much lower and I think fair and reasonable for the scarcity of the car so please bid to own. I have a clear Pennsylvania title in my name in hand and will gladly transfer it to the new owner once the sale has been completed. If you have intelligent questions please ask. The car can remain inside in its dry storage space for up to 30 days free of charge after the sale, beyond that we will need to negotiate terms. Happy bidding.
