Vehicle Detail
You are looking at a 3 owner 1984 Oldsmobile 98 Regency Brougham. The previous owner was a member of the Oldsmobile Club of America (OCA). The car runs flawlessly and starts on the first turn of the key every time. The alternator was replaced in 2010 and the front brakes were redone in November of 2012. It’s not a trailer queen by any means, but it is a very nice driver condition car that can be shown at cruise nights and local car shows. The body is in generally good condition with no major dents and only a few small dings. There are a few minor areas of surface rust that are only visible up close, but no through rust holes anywhere. There are no rips or tears on the seats or dash, although there is some staining (I’m not sure exactly what it is since it was there when I got the car). There are no cracks in the dash and only one small crack in the steering wheel near the horn button on the right side. The passenger side front door panel has two rips in it, each about 2 inches long. Unlike many GM cars of this era, the headliner does not sag at all and the sun visors are in good shape as well. The a/c blows nice and cold even on hot days and the radio and cassette player both work perfectly. All four power windows are operational, as are the rear reading lamps (a rare option from what I’ve been told). Not functioning are the power seat, power antenna (It’s stuck in the upright position), cruise control, and the power lock switch on the passenger side (The door locks all go down and work manually. It’s just the one switch that isn’t functional). There are two items on the car that need attention, though neither one affects its running condition. 1) The low beams are both burned out and need to be replaced (The high beams work). 2) The car failed NJ emissions. I wanted to register it as a collector car, but NJ changed the laws for this a few years ago and made the process much more complicated. If you’re an NJ resident, you may be able to get QQ (historic/antique) plates and bypass inspection. I feel that my price is very fair considering the car’s condition. Payment only by certified check (No paypal or personal checks) and full payment is due within 10 days of the auction ending. Non-paying bidders will be reported to ebay. I will not pay for shipping, but may be able to assist with pick-up. No warranty is expressed or implied and the car is being sold as is, where is. Please contact me with any questions you have BEFORE you place a bid. Thank you and good luck.
