Vehicle Detail

I'm selling my 1986 300SDL that I purchased from a private owner in April 2007. The mileage at that time was 270K. Currently the mileage is stuck at 387K, as the odometer stopped working approximately 3 months ago. I estimate the true mileage is between 390K and 392K. My mechanic said that there is a plastic wheel (located behind the instrument cluster) that is broken and can be replaced. If you know anything about the Mercedes cars built in the 1980s, you will know that this is a command problem. I had the same issue with a 1984 300d that I owned in the late 80s and early 90s. The 300SDL was in built1986 and 87 only. I read somewhere on the internet that Mercedes made approximately 3,000 of these cars each year. You won't find many of these cars. This car is very dependable. During the winter, even with single digit temperatures, the car started first time-every time. I drive this car daily for the volunteer work that I do in Washington DC and Southern Maryland. The mpg for city/highway is between 27-29. Normally, I achieve approximately 600 miles on a tank of gas for city/highway driving. I never had to add oil between changes. It has a great ride, better than the 98 S420 that I used as a trade for my new 2014 Passat TDI. I have all of the service records from the day of my purchase. I had it painted approximately 4 years ago using the original Mercedes Benz paint. The tires are decent. As you look at the pictures, you will see that the seats have been replaced. Although, they are not the original color, the gray looks great with the dark blue. There is a slight tear on the armrest. Otherwise, the seats are in mint condition. Please note the door panel blemish on the driver side. My wife lost her key. I just have the one key that I use. I had two of the window regulators replaced. The front right and rear left window regulators need to be replaced as well as the tie rod ends. I have these parts and they are new and are included in the winning bid price. The car needs an alignment and the front pads probably need to be replaced. . Each spring I have to charge the AC systems to make it through the summer. Also, I have the missing turbo emblem that should be on the trunk. The following major repairs have been done while I owned the car: Replaced rear muffler assembly 8/12Replaced front and rear seatsReplaced exhaust pipe gaskets 6/09Replaced glow plugs 10/09Replaced serpentine belt and tensioner shock 6/07Replaced starter 10/07Replaced front windshield 4/13Replaced AC condenser 5/10Replaced front rotors and brake pads 10/12Replaced Flex pipe 11/12Replaced reverse clutches and resealed transmission 1/08Replaced oil cooling line assembly and vacuum pump 3/11Replaced battery 4/11Replaced motor mounts and transmission mounts 5/12Replaced upper control arms both sides 8/13
