Thank you for viewing "Goldie" --She's an Oldie, but a Goodie. These were built from 1961-1967 off the Ford Falcon, and the Ford Econoline Clubwagon was born. I have always loved the Falcons and when I found out there was a van, well, that just takes the cake. I went to look at a '61 that had been 'frankensteined' with aftermarket seats and what-not and it was Ok... but the guy had Goldie sitting but wasn't selling just yet. Goldie had been the delivery van for the local plant nursery for years, rarely leaving the lot. The way she ran and looked both inside and out really sold me her. In fact, every time you pull up at a light or go to the store, there's always somebody smiling and giving a thumbs up. Perhaps a bit oddball and quirky, which I like, but very functional and eye-catching. Goldie is an extended van, you can fit an 8' board in her. Besides, she's coveteously stock, original and complete, plus she drives! It's a nice ride, smooth. This rig has never been restored, just been kept up through the years; fix things here and there. Body-wise, it is one of the most solid unrestored old rigs I've ever seen on the road. What you see is what you get. Original paint shows quite a bit of surface rust on the top, a couple pin holes, but the gutters are perfect and still sealed! Overall, there are a few minor dings and scratches. There is one "kink" on the driver's side door and the key latch is out of adjustment and will not work there (but it still locks from the inside and key works on all other doors). All the glass is in great shape and open and close correctly. There may be some filler on one of the rear doors. The nose is perfect, wheel lips and rocker panels very clean. The trim is all there and in good shape, deluxe model. Needs to be restored, but overall very nice. The underneath is in really good shape and the frame rails are excellent, all the inner bracing looks really good, no damage. Very clean, the way you like to see a vintage rig. She even sports the original tags from the nursery: Larsen's Enterprises. Oregon has treated Goldie kindly through the years, we have mild winters and DO NOT salt the roads. The interior is in fantastic shape. The seats are ORIGINAL and in near perfect condition. There is one small one inch seam which has come undone on the driver's seat. Almost unheard of in these rigs, there is also the rear bench seat with perfect upholstery. All armrests are intact, the ashtrays, the door panels (photo shows the one with warp), all the coat-hooks, little Ford emblems, etc. are all there. The dash skirt or apron is there and in perfect condition. The dash has not been cut in anyway and all knobs are there. The e-brake light on the dash never turns off when driving... haven't figured that one out. Hasn't seemed to cause a problem. There is a small hole in the passenger floor where the leather wiper blade seal has leaked. It's really bizarre to have such a clean, rust-free vehicle with one little problem spot! See photo. Have the headliner but it is not installed. All the dome lights are intact. The floor mat is in fair condition with some tears here and there. The e-brake handle is tragically broken off. Original seatbelts on driver seats, aftermarket 3 matching seatbelt sets installed (factory location) on rear bench-- which we had to buy custom made brackets for as they'd been lost. There is also a real nifty, simple apparatus that pulls out the step (on the side doors) when the doors are opened, it works great but we lack the pin (would be an easy fix, we used a heavy duty nail for a bit!). Door straps all present and accounted for. Mechanically, this little Econoline is in good to decent shape. Based on the vehicles history and (lack of) wear, and the way it drives, I'm pretty convinced the 63000 miles are original and not turned over. Has had a new starter, alternator, regulator and relays, new battery, recent full tune up, new ignition, new wiper motor. Engine is one of the dependable Ford straight 6 cylinder 240's with an easy to drive automatic transmission-- which we had serviced. She's a little leaky, though, both engine oil and trans pans. New valve cover gasket. Radiator was recently replaced and upgraded to larger (before we got it). We also installed a transmission radiator to help with keeping things cool (these run hot by design). Comes with a new carbeurator tune-up kit. Has a manual choke. Doghouse (engine compartment) is insulated and sealed. All the lights work, nice and bright at night. Overall mechanically she is in pretty good condition. These old rigs always need a little tinkering, but for driving point A to B, you could easily use this as a daily driver no problems.
