In 1980 GM dumped the 400 6.6 and 403 olds 6.6 in favor of a 305 Chevy or a turbo 301. Fact is this is a rare car, only 3225 production trans am cars came with t-tops and a stick. Of those 3225 trans am cars, only 1100-1200 were black. I have the original book that came with the car, all of the paper work for the zz4 Chevy 350, the TKO tremec transmission, rear end and any repairs I had to do. I also have the autotrader book that I found the car in. It is a Michigan car but it has never seen snow and hasn't seen rain since 2002. This car has been my baby for 16 years, I restored what I had to so that I could show the car. When I was 18 I won my first show with the car, in 2002. I have been doing local weekend car shows since I have owned the car. I did the headliner, carpet, rims and kept the car very clean. As far as restoration goes this car could use some work on the front ground effects, they are the stock pieces but they are beginning to sage, after 33-34 years that is expected. The paint is the original paint, the decals are stock and original as well. It is important to note that when looking at these cars, the decals. So many people put the incorrect decals on these cars, hurts my heart. This thing is highway friendly, at 80mph it's turning about 2800 rpm. Only 93 octain should be used, the car is timed for 93. For this car to be perfect it needs a new center counsel or this one need a touch of love, something I always wanted to do but never got around to it. New tires, wax, wash, window moldings are a little rough, minor seat tear on the driver seat, note the picture. Paint is original, it's not absolutely perfectly, but it's not bad by any means, you can still see yourself in it. T-top have a few chips in the plastic, note the picture, but the glass is perfect. I'm selling the car because I don't have time to enjoy it and its going to need some more minor restoration in the next few years that I'm not really interested in doing. I just had my first child and I need something more practical than I show car and a cobalt ss with a supercharger.
