Vehicle Detail
1960 TR3A with 48 spoke powder coated wire wheels. Mileage: current odometer reading 10,655 Color Signal Red with Black Interior / White Piping Clear New York State Title This TR3A has been family owned for over 20 years! Before that, it was stored for 15 years yearning to be driven again, always in a garage! This beauty has under gone a frame up restoration, and is considered a driver, on a scale of 1 to 10 this car is a high 8 all day long. According to the judges at the Euro Car show, sponsored by the MG Car Club of Central New York, it is a 10, and has taken 1st place ribbons in its class every year it has been entered in the car show, including 2008, 2009, and most recently 2014! This signal red show stopper has a black interior finished with white piping, it comes fitted with a black convertible top, side curtains, convertible bonnet cover (for use when the top is down) and a tonneau cover. The upholstery has been completely replaced with added Triumph rubber floor mats. The trunk has a matching carpet set to the interior. It has been fitted with lap seat belts, on both front and rear seats, this TR also has a back seat which is a rare find! It is also fitted with plexiglass "vent wings". The "Banjo" style steering wheel and all gauges are in good operating condition. It has a matched set of Remmington Hi Max Metric radial tires, 165-15 in excellent condition with approx 1,500 miles on them. There is also a spare 48-spoke rim and tire stored in the tire compartment. The paint finish is in very good condition, but has typical imperfections of that of a 54 yr. old car. This car is a very nicely preserved example of a TR3A. The engine bay is extremely clean and painted black, the engine was rebuilt approx. 3,000 miles ago by the previous owner. In 2012 the engine was fitted with new SU Carburetors. In 2009 it was given a complete motor overhaul with rebuilt cylinder head and gaskets with new valves, springs, guides, timing chain and cover. Additionally in the last three years the starter, voltage regulator, generator, water pump, fuel pump, oil pump, all 4 shocks, brakes (front and rear), battery, Kevlar radiator hoses, choke cable and knob have all been replaced. The bumpers, knock offs and valve cover have all been re-chromed, while the windshield frame, licenses plate light and gas cap remain original. All hinges have also been replaced. This amazing car comes with many extras including a complete set of parts and service manuals, a spare speedometer, a spare fuel pump, extra trim parts, extra Kevlar hose parts, and extra tire inner tubes. This car is in mechanically working order, it is not missing any parts and the motor does not smoke. The Triumph was professionally apprised by Roberts Appraisal service of Central New York in for $30,000, in 2011 and is currently insured thru Great American Classic Car Insurance for $36,250! A true Triumph enthusiasts dream! This Triumph is being sold in and as is condition with no warranty expressed or implied.
