For(d) many of you looking at this Maverick you know the vehicle. This was built by a well respected - long time - Maverick owner and parts supplier out of Parkersburg, WV. I purchased the vehicle about 2-3 years ago (time goes by fast so I may be off a few months). This is a "Trophy Winner" Maverick that is simply one of a kind, in appearance, design, quality and drivability. BODY:4D Maverick.DEEP - DEEP (Professional) SOLID BLACK PAINT (mirror finish)SILVER (reflective) SIDE STRIPE (Comet GT Style) with the lettering INTERCEPTOR cut in the rrear.Police Edition emblems on the sideAll chrome trim in excellent condition LIGHTS:All the lights work - brake - drive - parkingAlso - in keeping up with the "Police Edition" theme, I had really cool (LED Strobe RED / BLUE take down lights installed in the from bumper. Note: these are used only when parked - showing - it is illegal to use them when driving. GLASS:All the glass is in excellent condition - no cracks or foggingI had the glass "tinted" when I obtained the car. NOTE: Some of the pics you'll will see are "pre-tint" and "after tint"...the first few are with the tinted windows BUMPERS:Bumpers are in great shape, no dings, great chrome INTERIOR:Interior is "original".Two tone vinyl and cloth.Door panels are in great shapeDash perfect - No cracksCarpeting in great shapeHeadliner in great shapeHad a new CD Radio put in - remote - sounds great - email me and I can give you the brand - not sure as I type this up.POWER ANTENNA - Which is really cool! TIRES:Tires are in excellent shape - good tread (email me if you need the size .....while putting in this add the car about a mile from me where I store it - another garage). WHEELS:Great wheels (look at pics). I believe they are off a 16" Ford Crown Vic (I'm sure someone will email me and let me know) ENGINE:V8 - 302 Original Ford 302 - less than 50K original milesEngine was completely gone over by builder and most gaskets, belts and possibly the water pump, plugs etc. were replaced.Police Interceptor stickers on the engineAC was changed over to accept newer fluid but does need charged. DRIVE TRAIN:Original Ford Maverick automatic SUSPENSION:Aftermarket Front and Rear Sway BarsKYB gas-a-just shocks all around EXHAUST:Semi-Dual (with cut-outs)Warlock Muffler (She sounds great and if you open those cut-outs your going to wake the neighbors and get the dogs barking) DRIVABILITY: I take this car out at least 3 times a week (minimum - usually more than that). Car shows and at least once a week I go on a long drive. I just got back from a drive up to Lake Erie (cruise) - 150 - 200 miles, drove it to WV, PA and few trips down to Columbus (400 mile round trip) and she runs like a dream - 70 MPH and no problem. If she doesn't sale I'm planning a drive across RT 66......have a few friends out west...I have no worries about that drive. APPEARANCE: If you don't want to talk to people, don't buy this baby. EVERYONE - EVERYWHERE you go someone will stop and want to talk to you. This is what I often refer to as a "Wash-N-Wax" cruiser. Get in, turn the key and go to all your local cruise ins. Do a little research. Go on the Maverick/Comet Forum and you'll see the car there and ask the members questions. They all know the car, know the history and know the builder.WHY AM I SELLER HER? Well, I don't have to but like many of us I want to get into another project - search. These summer car swap (recent one) got me looking. I'm looking for an older model vehicle (1940-50's) that is drivable but maybe needs some work - TLC. The garage and my time won't support having too many toys around (MC - Mini Bikes, Go Carts etc.), so have to make room. If she doesn't sale this time around on eBay I'm going to take her to our last "local" Car Swap Meet (Canfield, Ohio Fair Grounds) and see what she'll bring. If nothing at that time, then I'll simply keep this car forever and enjoy....but have no problem in selling her for the right price....which brings me to another sale possibility / offer.POSSIBLE "PARTIAL" TRADES Note: "Partial". If you have an older vehicle, a motorcycle, a boat.....hell anything with a motor that carries a little "cool factor" with it and you want to trade it so as to cut into my set purchase price....help you out a little.......we can talk. Ok, I've provided you all the Great Details of this car, now let me share with you some of the minor....very minor concerns. To be honest with you, I simply get in her and drive so I either have accepted or may not remember some of the concerns simply because they don't affect the car and or value, but here we go: ENGINE: As noted, clean as can be (check the pics.) starts and runs like a champ. No problem with the idle or acceleration......BUT......lately I have been noticing some smoke when I first start her and she's been sitting and once in a while some (minor) smoke if I accelerate (getting on a freeway ramp), not always but I've seen it a few times. I'm thinking that the valve seals may be leaking, wearing out. If she doesn't sale I'll do some top end work this winter.....it's nothing major but I'm being up-front. NOTE; You know, it may be as simple as the oil blow back PVC plug...I know in the past these did get clogged up and would result in smoke...just thinking out loud. FLUIDS: I am noticing some minor fluid drips when I park her.....looks like oil and when I got up underneath it actually looked as if it was leaking from the oil filter....I should check this out....but again it is very minor. Other than that I can't think of anything wrong with this beauty. LOCATION: The car is located in Ohio, Zip Code: 44406.
