CLUB SEDAN = this rare 1930 Chevrolet Club Sedan landau has an exceptional perfectly maintained body from its birth in 1929. this original body was never wrecked or rusted so this build started with a perfect factory body. It had a busted original engine [ no antifreeze ] and garaged from 1932 until 1984 when restoration began. never having rust explains the perfect body that needed no repair. this car has no bondo , replaced fenders or body parts since the day it was built. The builder was a master machinist and engineer from Boeing who spent 6+ years and spared no expense to make this car perfect as you can see from the pictures. a [ then new ] 2 year old 1982 Corvette was the donor car. the independent rear end was disassembled and triple chrome plated including all 3 drive shafts along with the new dropped front straight axle , original springs , original bumpers all got heavier re chroming. the radiator grill covering the AC condenser is in perfect condition along with the original radiator grill both are triple plated chrome with perfect emblems. all body wood was replaced with higher quality wood of which type I forget. all glass is perfect , lightly tented and perfectly fitted with no play and tight seal everywhere just like a new car. all 4 doors shut tight like factory with a firm click /click [ double latch safety ] like new. they have no wobble , play , rattles or squeaks as this Fisher coach is factory fresh after all these years. the Air Conditioner does work but the freon leaks down in a few months Heater is electric ceramic. All electrical and electronics work. windshield wipers are tight and like new with 2 speeds but I store them under the seat because the car is never driven in rain and I hated seeing them hanging down in the original position. the landau top is perfect and made from the finest material. all fabric is of the highest quality and in perfect condition. the original factory seats are like new with better fabric , head liner , carpet , all interior is without any defects , cuts , tears or stains with extra styling and insulation. even the floor mats are still perfect as this car has had only the finest care. front windows are electric , work perfectly and seal tight . the interior has clever well placed hidden storage built into the doors and overhead. lights , turn signals , horn , stereo etc work . the yellow day time running lights [ AKA parking lights ] look like gas lights during the day and really set this car off driving during the day. the headlights are bright and have low / high beam . this car is a real money maker for weddings as I did some antique limo service for anniversaries and special events so I hate to see it go. the premium spoke wheels in excellent shape with all new tires. the ride is exceptionally smooth with its independent rear suspension and composite rear spring. everything is factory tight and in perfect mechanical condition. steering wheel is tight with no play and is both telescopic and tilts. the dash was custom made from the finest wood and all instruments work and are lighted. Dash is covered with the skin of a 6'+ Eastern Diamond back Rattlesnake that I killed myself here in north west Florida however the matching dash cover is still underneath it if you would like to remove it. power is stock 82 Corvette 350 with low miles since professionally rebuilt. starts right up and runs like new with no smoke , taping , knocking , etc. the engine,transmission ,brakes , power train and all running gear is perfect with the registered 29,754 miles since build. gas tank is multi baffled 15 gal stainless steel so no sloshing or rust. only the finest of everything went into building this car at a price of over $85,000 and massive man hours. It is mechanically without fault. the 8K paint job is not perfect but almost and still exceptional and smooth after all these years. 10 layers of paint hand rubbed to the finest finish i have ever seen on any car ever. It has no dents or scratches however paint can be nitpicked .it has very slight imperfections in the clear coat outside the engine vents from years of heat that is very hard to see. it also has 1 very small repaired paint ding in the drivers door. Pinstriping is perfect and done by the well known Rick Harris [ see YouTube , web ], etc. I have never seen a car this age look this well or be this solid and tight.it is ready to fire up and drive across the US at any time and runs very cool in Florida on the hottest days. I have owned this car for 7+ years after buying it from the ageing builder and am now placing it up for sell because of my advancing age and declining health.
