Vehicle Detail

Hello friends, 'Hope everyone is having a sweet summer. Check out this bad boy! My entire life, I have always wanted a '57 Chevy, until I saw this car - Kind of like the offspring of a T Bird and a '57 Chevy. 1958 is a rare year for the Fairlane, especially a 2 door sedan like this one. I believe that it was modified for street racing in the '70's. People go crazy wherever I go, whenever they see it rolling down the street. You can hear it comin' from miles away - the neighbors just love me... It's got old school air shocks, so you can pump up the back end pretty high(Old school funny car), or drive it nice and low if you wish - feels like I'm floating when I cruise in this beast. I just dropped about $10,000 at Norton Custom Hot Rods in Huntington Beach for new parts/labor, including front disk brakes, starter, ignition, pumps, 4 barrel Edelbrock carb, twin cam, etc... also, those are brand new custom fitted sprint mag wheels and tires($1500) This car was built to be my daily driver, not a show car. If you watch the video, which was just filmed 2 days ago, you can see that she fires right up in the morning, no problem - just one pump of the gas pedal, and she's good to go - shifts in and out of gear nicely(Neutral, Drive, Low, Reverse)I'm a musician, so I have driven it to gigs all over Los Angeles - The House Of Blues in Hollywood, The Viper Room, recording sessions, etc. - Nicknamed "The Bonesmobile", this ride is legendary in LA. I just painted it in Black Satin - looks really good, very smooth, but not mint show room quality. Body is in great shape - there are some small little dings(like little pellets) in the gold trim on the driver's side that are barely noticeable, and some very small dents in the rear bumper - the passenger side window is toast...it has a giant spiderweb crack(although it kind of matches the character of the car, if you want that rat rod appeal), and the back window on the driver side has a big single crack down the middle, but these windows can both be bought online for less than $500 total. Three of the tail light covers are pretty crusty and cracked, but these are also cheap and easy to obtain here on ebay (I just got a good one for $5). This car runs very strong, and I have taken it on two long distance trips(150 miles each) at 80mph. Sometimes, the oil light goes on after about 20 minutes of driving - especially in hot weather. I did not rebuild the entire engine, so please keep that in mind. The interior is not original - I think it might have come out of an old 1970's cadillac - looks really cool, and comfortable too... I had seat belts installed in the front and the back. Tons of trunk space - at least a two body trunk, maybe three...(Haha)The dashboard/steering wheel/interior panels are all original, with original light blue paint, and just a touch of scattered rust on the top - pretty sure this car was originally blue and white. Far left Passenger side headlight is cracked. Windshield wipers and radio do not work, although the wipers did work when I first bought the car. The inside lining of the glove compartment crumbled to dust, too - it was made of a cardboard type of material. All lights work, the gas and temperature gauges work, air vent works - there is an ac unit in the engine, but it is not rigged up. I will include a really nice automatic air inflator with pressure gage that connects to the cigarette lighter, so you can pump up the shocks nice and easy whenever you want. Never thought I would have to sell this baby, but I'm a musician with an 11 year old daughter - nuff said! No returns on this car - these old cars are unpredictable, so I can only guarantee the operation of the vehicle to be what you see in the video. Anyway, you have got to check out the pictures and the video to truly get a feel for this ride! Have a great weekend, and happy bidding.
