Vehicle Detail
1999 Mustang GT Convertible. This is a Real 35th Anniversary Edition. #181 of 4638 total. 1299 in Black. Convertible and Coupe. Option Code-54Y NO RESERVE!!!!!!! This was a $2695.00 factory package that included multiple "unique" (in 1999) items that included: 2-tone special leather seats/door panel inserts, 17" 5-spoke polished wheels, 35th Anniversary instrument cluster,"Honeycomb" rear tail light insert, Special 1/4 panel scoops and hood scoop, Unique 35th Anniversary floor mats, etc. I have the original Ford package that was sent to the original owner that includes: Floor Mats, 1/8 scale diecast model, 35th Anniversary Mustang book, Key-chain, CD's and 35th leather CD "holder", 35th decal, etc (See photo) ALL of this is BRAND-NEW never used!..Only taken out for the photo in the listing! I also have a Dealer option 35th Anniversary package photo brochure (see photo) I am told by the Mustang clubs that these are ALL very rare unique items, and that these items alone are worth big $$$ ($400-$500, as per the club "experts"!) In addition, this is the first time I have seen a listing for one of these Anniversary Mustangs that have included a "Dog-Tag" with the Unit number (#181) included! (see photo)...Also VERY RARE! Now, onto a description of the GT. I owned this GT from 02/2010 until 11/2010. I then sold it to my older Brother who put approximately 20K miles on it, in the past 4 years. I am 50 years young and he is 52!..Not over the hill yet but,we are not "teeny-bopper hot-rodders" or "let's just power brake and smoke the rear tires and beat on the car for no apparent reason, kids" either! Anyway, he recently installed NEW tires, NEW front struts, and a NEW steering rack. This GT was always serviced by either my or his local Ford Dealer. At least since February 2010. This GT also has a flowmaster exhaust (sounds SWEEEET!) and a K&N cold-air intake. ( I still have the original setup-included (see photo) Other than these 2 items, the GT is factory stock! My Brother has now "given" the GT back to me to sell as he doesn't use it much anymore. I would love to buy it (take if I could!..lol!) but I already have an 87' GT Convertible and the Boss says, "I CANNOT HAVE ANOTHER MUSTANG, GROW UP" ! (Profanity deleted from original quote, but you get the message I am sure! lol!) I would have no problem driving this Mustang ANYWHERE!...It runs and drives that well! I will now summarize the GT ( Excellent, Good, and not so good!) Engine- runs like NEW! All filters, belts, hoses in excellent (new) to very good. Always well maintained! Transmission- shifts smooth like NEW! Rear- no clunks and/or backlash. Tires/Brakes- Excellent tires with approximately 2K miles since NEW. Brakes are in very good condition as per the last Ford "The Works" service at 120K Wheels- All 4 are in Excellent to very good condition. Little to no curb rash with clear coat and center caps ALL in EXCELLENT condition! Front end- Tight with no squeaks/rattles- NEW power steering rack and pinion (done by Ford at 116K) Convertible top- 1 seam has stitching missing (see photo) but other than that, no rips, and no dry rot. a couple of the "normal" Mustang wear-spots where top folds. Rear glass window excellent. I also have a factory rear-boot is EXCELLENT condition! (see photo) Electric top works well and stores properly when down. Included is a convertible top boot in excellent condition! (see photo-again) Interior- Very good to good, with drivers seat bottom seam split (see photo) and upper seam. Pass seat/rear seat in very good condition. Steering wheel has some upper wear on the leather. Leather interior is NOT cracked and dryed out. Carpet is in very good condition with no rips or worn spots, but does have some sun fading as seen when floor mats are (currently has 4 piece black Mustang carpeted set installed-see photos) removed. Headliner is very good with no rips/stains. Mirrors are dual lighted vanity type and both work! The only 2 issues I can find are: 1) Left rear (drivers) 1/4 window is not going down. 2) Emergency brake goes up/down but does not feel to be connected. Exterior- Very good to good to fair (You be your own Judge! I am VERY picky!- so I am told!) The Very good to good to fair- The GT exterior looks GREAT and is very presentable. Black as you know (I hope?) shows scratches well. Well, this GT does have some here and there!..Nothing major with the exception of the right rear 1/4 panel (see photo) and rear bumper cover. The front bumper cover does also have some minor "stars" in 2 small spots but are all intact and hve no splits and/or cuts. The driver's door and driver's 1/4 panel have been refinished. This was done by my Brother and a "fight" he had with a shopping cart (several according to my brother!) and a parked car at the supermarket. The hood has a few minor scratches and the hood scoop has some fading (see photos) The rest of the GT looks all original and is in very good to good condition. As I said, this is my opinion! (again, I am PICKY!.lol!) My Wife and Daughter's think the car looks great! You may think so as well, but I not trying to "hide" anything! Please check my feedback as I have sold several cars over the past 7-8 years on ebay and feel that "honesty is the best policy"! Now, at last the "Bottom-Line"! KBB has this car as listed in "fair" condition at $4300.00 I would call this GT- "GOOD" overall!...You be the Judge! I think the "buy-it-now" is more than fair!..I was going to do a "buy-it know-with best offer" type of auction, but didn't want to go back and forth with silliness such as: " Would you take $500.00 now and the balance when I sell my "other car"?...Another classic- "Can I send you several money orders and a check made out to my neighbor's friend's cousin which is from a "foreign" bank"? Here's one more: "Can give you a deposit now and pick up the car (and pay the balance) sometime next year"? I think you get the idea!..Please check and READ my buyer's requirements carefully! Feel free to email me with any questions and I will try to get back to you ASAP! If you are the high bidder, or use the buy it now option, rest assured the car is safe and secure, parked in my garage at home! Of course, the longer I look at it, I may just keep it for myself!...Wmmmmmm! Other than "the supermarket incident" this GT has a clean carfax and autocheck report. I have them both. Autocheck shows several prior owners, but I was #3 ( if you consider the dealer who bought it #2 who only had it for 1 week before I bought it from them) The original owner traded it in to a Ford Dealer who sold it wholesale at an Dealer auction. I then bought it, and then my brother. Lastly, while this is a "NO RESERVE" auction, I do have this GT listed locally and as such, reserve the right to end this auction early.
