Vehicle Detail

2001 Toyota Tundra SR5. In perfect running condition. We purchased this truck in 2003 from an insurance company for our own use. It was involved in a minor accident. The truck was parked along the side of a road unoccupied. From what we were told from the insurance company, a flatbed truck carrying a load of something, we don't know what, passed by with something hanging off the side of the truck. It caught the Tundra putting a scrape almost completely down the drivers side of the truck. We purchased it this way and it had 18842 miles on the odometer. The scrape started by hitting the left rear taillight, scraping most of the way along the bed. The rear left door did'n get a single scratch on it. The scrape started again on the drivers door completely taking out the mirror and onto the front left fender where it ripping out the front left headlight. I used to be an autobody man and did it on a professional basis for many years. When I saw this truck, I was in need of a pickup and was searching at the time for one. Rather than buying new, I bought this instead. The rear quarter panel could have been repaired but I wanted it to be perfect so I replace it with a new OEM Toyota panel. All replacement parts on this truck are genuine Toyota parts. The left rear door is original with no putty at all on it. The drivers door was repairable but I wanted new as this truck was for my wife and I. The front left fender was not worth fixing and was replaced with a new OEM part. The scrape was high and did not touch any of the tires. No frame or suspension work was required. Of course the taillight, mirror and headlight were replace with new OEM parts as well. The truck was then painted and baked in a professional state of the art paint booth. This all took place in 2003. Since then, this truck has been an excellent truck. It has never let us down and it doesn't owe us a thing. I have always changed the oil every 3K to 4K miles with mobile one synthetic oil. The transmission oil has been flushed and changed three times since we've owned it. The differentials, both front and back have had oil changes twice since we've owned it. Timing belt and water pump once at about 90K miles. A couple of years back, we purchased a small goose neck horse trailer so the wife could transport her horses to the vet in need of an emergency. We had a goose neck hitch installed as well as an air bag helper suspension. To date, we only used it three times and the truck pulled it just fine. Just a couple of weeks ago, we had no intension of selling this truck but we are in the middle of buying a much larger horse trailer. The wife is going to start competing with her horses and this truck will not be able to pull this new trailer as it is almost 30 feet long. We just put two new tires on the front two weeks ago. The rear tires were replace this past winter along with new rotor discs and pads in the front and new drums and shoes in the rear. There is nothing wrong with this truck at all. Not even a check engine light. Everything works as it should. The motor doesn't burn an ounce of oil in-between changes. The 12 years we have had this vehicle has been a pleasure for us. We are starting the bidding at $4000 with no reserve. If it doesn't sell, we'll re list it at $3500 then $3000 and so on until it finds another good home. Thanks for looking. Questions are welcomed. Test drives are welcomed. If you would like to have a mechanic check this truck out, you are more than welcome to. zip code 19510. I must ad one thing. This pickup is not our daily driver but we still are using it to get horse feed, hay, etc. for the animals. Mileage will change slightly. After the new pickup arrives, supposed to be this coming week, we will not be driving the Tundra any more. 8/13/14 Update. An interested party for this Tundra sent a mechanic out to inspect the truck today. He spent a descent amount of time on it and found a few minor things. (I guess I have to retract my statement about nothing being wrong). First and worst thing. The left front boot that covers the CV joint needs to be replaced. It was torn. He said about $35 bucks and a half hours worth of work with a two piece cover would take care of that. Second, He said that there is a moist oil spot on the rack & pinion steering. Not dripping and normal for the mileage. He went on to say that he has never seen any vehicle with 167K miles on it that didn't have a moist oil spot somewhere and it and was nothing to worry about. 3rd, A light bulb on the A/C panel to back light it was burned out. 4th and last, the parking brake cable needed to be tightened. He said while he was under there with the tools in hand, he tightened it up. I threw him a $10 tip for doing so. All in all, his comment was "you took very good care of this truck and the repairs were top notch" His words, not mine. Also; the truck is due for it's next oil change. I will have this done with mobile 1 synthetic oil and a new filter as I have always have done. Thanks. The mechanic that inspected the truck did say there are spots of rust on the frame that will need attention in the future. 8/14/12 Update. The oil was changed today with Mobile 1 Synthetic and a new Wix oil filter. Also; We're getting a lot of offers to take a cash deal and pull it off of Ebay. We are going to let the auction do it's thing. 1st. It wouldn't be fare to the gentleman who paid a mechanic to look the truck over. 2nd, We have no idea what this truck is worth with the reconstructed title being on it. No Blue Book covers that. 3rd. We're not interested in making a lot of money off of this truck. If we get $3000 for it, thats fine by us. If we get $5000 for it, thats fine just as well. Remember what I said. This truck doesn't owe us a thing. Thanks.
