1953 Chevrolet mild custom, came to Illinois from California in the 1990's,has been garaged every winter since, very little rust. Has some minor dents. box is very straight with a good wood floor. Has nova subframe. power steering, power disc brakes which stop great. tilt wheel and power seat. engine is John Barret (Texas) built 350 and rebuilt turbo 350 trans with fairly low miles . New ball joints , A frame bushings, tie rod ends, battery and new front tires (coker radials) , this spring. Drives and handles like a nova, not a 1953 chevy truck. Every where it goes people smile and some even wave and give thumbs up. The interior is bright and cheerful which makes it seem larger than a dark color. The Doors sometimes are hard to close and open, there is a trick to it,( this is part of the old truck charm.) This truck is very low so the tradeoff is that the tires rub the fenders when turning sharp. That's the price of lowness. It has a heater and electric wipers . There is no sound system, the pipes make all the music you need. This truck gets driven while my show pony stays under its car cover. What's that tell ya!
