This is a very original 2 owner 1983 Buick Riviera XX Indy Pace Car , one of only 502 made for the 20 anniversary of the Rivera model and also used as the Indy Pace Car in 1983. It only has 47,000 original miles, it was always Garage Kept and owned by Buick Enthusiast. The paint is mostly original, I did have to replace the bumper fillers when the originals got so fragile they started falling apart when I put gas in the car or tried to clean them. The new reproduction abs plastic ones were carefully fitted by a professional to achieve factory appearance and then professionally color matched and painted with the original two tone paint scheme and re-striped. This was a big expense a buyer wont have to deal with on this car, to fix a problem all of these cars either have at this age or are going to have soon, as the original bumper fillers crumble from age regardless of climate the car was stored in. Otherwise the body is solid and original it Never Had Rust or Collision Damage . I've owned several of these XX cars before I found this one about 12 years ago. I bought it from the late owners son , I understood his father bought it from the Owner of a Buick Dealer he was friends with after the Dealer used it briefly as his personal Demo . The others I've owned were nice cars, but this on is exceptionally clean especially inside . This car has the rare ASC sunroof that was offered on these new , it also has the rare general tires on it that were the last best match to the originals, and I have three of the actual original General Gold stripe tires that came on the car. It also has all the original Glove Box Candy,(shown ) as well as the original pace car sales brochure , Golf hat and front Buick Promo tag the dealer got with the car, Upholstery in this car is exceptional the leather and suede are not drying out or cracked special carpet in trunk and inside the car is very nice, the factory mats are all there, and show very little wear .and the real wood used on these XX cars is still like new A/C works great 134 conversion was done , power antenna was re-cabled last summer wire wheels and caps are very nice everything works and the car is very reliable to drive. Probably one of the best left of this XX model anywhere, other then possibly something that was stored away since new and has never been driven. The condition is typical of a 3year old car that was kept nice but this is 31 years old . This car really turns heads and draws admirers young and old whenever I have it out and is very reliable, tight, and pleasant to drive. I have a large Collection of Indy pace cars but I'm getting older and realize I'm not going to be able to keep up with all of them like I have been , so its time to start thinning the heard some .
