Vehicle Detail

I purchased this bike from the original owner in January 2011 – it was purchased originally by a gentleman in New York and then taken to Florida in his retirement. I purchased the bike as I had one as a youngster and wanted to “relive” that. When getting it re-inspected this year I noticed that I had put less 1500 miles on it in three years – I have a few other bikes to ride and don’t get to this one as much as I should. When it arrived to me in 2011 I put fresh fluids and filters throughout and rode it. January – March 2013 I put it on the service bench and stripped it down to the just the engine remaining in the frame. The following was done: - Cleaned and lubed everything - Replaced bearings - Treated and touched up frame scratches - Adjusted cam chain and valve clearance - Fully rebuilt carbs - All hydraulics replaced (master cylinder and three calipers - all seals) - Braided lines - New brake pads - New throttle cable - New headlight/instrument sub-frame - New nose cowling ($500 alone) - New side covers - New choke mechanism - Forks rebuilt and anti-dive works! - Fork brace added - New gel battery – does not need trickle charger to maintain charge - New airbox, air filter and all rubbers- Inside tank is spotless- Have been running ethanol free fuel in it since rebuild What’s not original (as far as I know): - Brake lines – will provide the originals to purchaser - Exhaust - Polished wheels - Little fins under the headlight – these where fitted in other markets but not in the US – they unbolt - After-market rear shocks- Center stand not fitted, but will be provided- One photo of owners manual, helmet lock, brake lines, blank spare key, seat strap, toolkit, etc comes with the bike The Good: Awesome bike to ride and gets lots of comments. Easy to start and after warm up goes very well.Sounds great.Clear title in hand. Cheap to own and operate. New parts still available from Suzuki. To consider: This is a 32 year old un-restored bike. If you are looking for a mint (over restored) show queen then look elsewhere. There is a scratch on the tank (see photo) and a tear in the seat (see photo). New seats still available from Suzuki. If I was keeping the bike I would probably find grippier tires for it. The ones on it have about 90% life in them, but I have found better tires that I like for one other old bike. There is a rattle in the headlight frame – the mechanism you use to adjust the headlight aiming. I would disassemble that and put a few fiber washers in it to solve. I have tried to be as accurate as possible in the description – it is a great machine with a motor that the drag racers have proven will run almost forever! For those in the know, the "black chrome" OEM exhausts for these bikes are virtually unobtainable. Note that this exhaust is not included in this auction and needs a little work. I have a lot of spares - both new and used. I will offer these to the buyer first at a reduced price. Note that these parts are not included in this auction.
