Vehicle Detail

1974 Porsche 914--Red--professionally converted from 1.8 liter to 2.0 liter from the crankshaft up less than 5000 miles ago. Engine rebuild by John Larson aka Cap'n Krusty on 914world. Check out his numerous threads. Heavy duty clutch disk. Very good power. Pertronix ignition with Flamethrower coil. New NAPA battery Rust repair in the trunk and hell hole done with sheet metal welded in. The car has been driven very little over the years and most of the upgrades have been mechanical. It has Bilstein shocks all around. New rotors, pads and newly rebuilt calipers at all corners. Recently redone front end with new bushings and ball joints. Some of the rubber seals have been replaced, but some have not. The interior is also relatively new but the red dye in the seats is fading slightly. Clarion AM/FM CD . All electrical components/ lights work. It needs tires. The car has dual Weber 44 IDF carbs. It was sputtering and backfiring through the carbs until I went up two sizes in the idle jets. Now the car runs and idles much better. There is still some mild roughness at neutral throttle which completely disappears with the application of a bit more gas. The car is perfectly suitable as a daily driver. The body is very solid now with no rust issues anymore. The car needs paint, though the paint is not chipping, but rather fading. Chrome bumpers: front is very good, rear is wrinkled but not hideous. Believe it or not, I can actually lay my hands on $10,000 in receipts. I'm sorry to see my 914 go but I need to lighten my load and I am starting with this car. Whoever makes the highest bid takes it.This car is loaded with potential and the expensive mechanical stuff is done. Please send in any questions you might have.
