Vehicle Detail
Garage Kept, a lot of work has gone into making this a unique muscle car worthy of brandishing the SS tag and turning heads as more than just your average 71' Chevelle. While everyone else is trying to keep their classic as close to the factory image of the vehicle, we've worked to envision a meaner, more aggressive experience while keeping that unmistakable Chevelle beauty. The chassis is nearly perfect, with only miniscule traces of rusting that is unpreventable from age and the natural elements without slapping waterproofing paint on the undercarriage which makes the overall chassis heavier than we wanted, so we decided to simply keep it clean and dry in a maintained environment, which has worked great to keep any signs of rust down to almost nothing. The engine is a brand new Chevrolet Small Block 350 bored out to a 383 stroker and has approximately 500 miles of drive time on it. Stock TH400 automatic three speed transmission is what's cranking the rear axle and the original dash and display from the 1971 Chevelle SS396 is present in the interior. A wood grain three spoke GT steering wheel has been added for easier turning. The car does come equipt with the stock power steering system for better handling and boasts a cleaner engine bay and lighter wet weight having removed the AC and heater units, after all, this car was designed for maximum speed and torque for that unmistakable exhilaration when you step on the gas. This Chevelle is covered in factory Electric Blue with dual Onyx Black racing stripes across the hood and trunk lids. The interior sports stock black leather seats and door covering with black carpeted floors throughout. The seatbelts have been replaced with Cobra 4-point harnesses. From the Cowl Induction hood to the Edelbrock chromed out carburetor to the 3.31:1 ~ 12-bolt Positraction (CF) and deep chest rumbling bass of the dual FlowMaster exhaust and SunPro triple gauge cluster, this car intimidates the moment it touches the blacktop. There is some work left to be done and while this car is road worthy and approximately 90% complete, small weekend projects would be all it takes to bring the car to 100% completion such as minor wiring (horn is not connected to horn button), the fuel pump switch is not wired into the steering column (a separate switch for the horn and fuel pump is mounted close to the column). The oil pan gasket needs to be replaced (very easy), it needs a new master brake cylinder (the brakes work but not ideally) and the serpent belt assembly needs to be tweaked a little (can be done in one weekend easily). The peg that points to the car's current gear when the gear shift is used is not connected and needs to be re-attached to the shift cable)... and that's it, everything else is complete, the trim work, the motor work, the transmission work, the interior, everything else has been completed. k Specs Year: 1971 Cylinders: 8 Motor: Chevrolet Small Block 350cu in bored to 383cu in Make: Chevrolet Model: Chevelle Sub Model: SS Trim: SS (SS396) Drive Type: 3-speed TH400 Automatic transmission Exhaust: Dual pipe Flowmaster high flow with custom intakes Options: Leather Seats, AM/FM/CD/MP3/WMA tilt out head unit, GT race style wood grain steering wheel, SunPro triple gauge cluster Mileage: 21,500 Safety: Front seats: 3-point Cobra safety harnesses, Corbeau Ext Color: Electric Blue Int Color: Black Int Material: Leather Wheels: Boss 338 Super Finish Grey Rear tires: 285 40Zr18 Nitro NT555 Drag radials Front tires: 245 40Zr18 Nitro NT555 Stance: 9in front bumper, 17in rear bumper Warranty: Vehicle does NOT have an existing warranty Clean Title?: Yes (currently registered in Texas) k The "other" stuff We cannot ship the car, but we can hold on to it until you come to pick it up (up to 30 days).
