Vehicle Detail

1937 Pontiac DeLuxe Model "Silver Streak" 2Dr. 2 Passenger Series 26 Six Cyl. Business Coupe A Genuine and Original 1930’s, 2 Passenger, 5 Window, Business Coupe in Very Good condition and with the Original wooden storage compartments still intact in the back end…A nice surprise considering just how hard they are to find these days, especially a Survivor still in Operable and Original condition. The "Business Coupe" from this historical by-gone era was designed for and used by Traveling Salesmen of the period. Their samples and sales items were stored neatly in a special area where the back seat and trunk area would usually be. (This set-up also often reminds me of how bootleggers transported their goods during Prohibition.) This Pontiac has a steel body which is very solid and straight except for a couple of minor bumps and bruises on the front driver’s side fender and rear fender. (See pictures). The All Steel Body is mostly rust free except in a couple of places where the rear bumper meets the body, but not serious enough to cause concern. (see pictures). The interior seat is old and still original, but structurally sound except there is some wear through on the back of the seat. There is also a large hole in the Headliner. The car with its 6 cylinder L-Head Inline engine runs and drives very nice, and as well as you could expect for a 77yr. old vehicle. It is a blast to drive around town. The brakes and all of the mechanicals operate as they should. I have done my best to describe the condition of this car. It is an Original Survivor with normal wear and tear, but there are no issues of serious nature. The cars of the 1930’s have always had a certain allure with their long hoods and Art Deco design. The "Silver Streak" theme attributed to Pontiac, refers to the wide chrome strip along the top of the hood and chrome strips on both sides of the hood. Pontiac carried the "Silver Streak" theme well into the 50’s. The Business Coupe has its own certain appeal still today. And the possibilities with this car abound…I am sure Someone will take this car and Restore it, or Resto-mod it, or Hot Rod it, etc., or simply leave it original, to admire it, and drive it as it is...Either way, the car and the new owner both come out winners. It is a Head-Turner and No Doubt, there will be a new owner very soon. The Coupe is for sale locally and on Ebay auction. It is available for viewing and a test drive in Littleton, Colorado. Please contact me if you would like to see it, or if you have any questions.
