1986 Honda CR500R. This bike was in fair condition when I got it on trade and I have replaced, repaired what was needed to get it to a good running bike. The entire front brake assembly was missing which I have replaced. The engine was running so rich that it was blowing oil out the exhaust. It has been rejetted and by adjusting the fuel mix, it runs really strong now. The exhaust gaskets were missing from the pipe, those have been replaced. The radiators were leaking and have been replaced. It has new clutch plates and new air filter. The front rim that is on the bike has a crack in it. I have another rim with a decent tire on it that will come with the bike. If I find time, I may put the new wheel on this coming week. It has an FMF pipe with power core silencer. The expansion chamber has a ding in it which can be seen in the pictures. It could use a set of new handgrips. The rear plastics are Maier but I think everything else is original. As far as I can tell, the suspension is good, the front forks don't appear to be leaking. The bike is not perfect, but it is in pretty good shape for its age. It is fairly hard to get started the first time ( which I understand is pretty normal for these 500's) but it starts decently after that. I was looking forward to riding this bike, but I really don't have the time or the place to ride it. From what I have read, the 1986 500 had the most powerful engine Honda ever put in these bikes. I believe they were around 75 horsepower and on a bike this light, that is an insane amount of power. Definitely not a bike for the novice rider. No warranty, you are buying it "as is".
