You are looking at one of the few remaining 1988 Toyota pickups with a frame that is nearly perfect and a body that has minimal surface rust. No rot anywhere. The body is not dent free though. The only significant dent and not huge is under the taillight of the rear passenger's side quarter panel. I bought this truck in Oregon where vehicles do not rust, due to no salt on roads out there. I drove this back to PA from the west coast in December of 2011. I replaced the tailgate, so the tailgate is not original. I have repaired a few areas of minor surface rust on the hood, tailgate and driver's side rear quarter. The truck runs and shifts great, but the rear differential has some play at the yoke and causes the truck to ride rough. 4x4 works great. It could be due to replacing the rear wheel bearing on the driver's side after finding a little play and not aligning the gear on the end of the axle shaft with the wear in the diff. I was going to restore this beauty, but I've been unemployed for a little over a year and I have another vehicle, so I sadly must sell my Toy. I replaced the water pump and timing belt when I bought the truck. Clutch and flywheel were replaced recently. Pennsylvania inspection until November 2014. The buyer must be aware that until the rear differential is repaired or replaced, this truck cannot be driven too many miles. I've been driving it locally, but I would not trust it to make a long journey. It may be as simple as a universal joint. If it is, my loss is your gain.
