Vehicle Detail

Hello ebayers. first i would like to say that my reserve is much, much lower than the buy it now price .Ok, So this Car was owned by a friend of mine's parents . they were the original owners , purchased from an AMC dealership in Glendale CA. in 1972, and recently acquired by me . it had sat garaged since 2001 and is in excellent condition . The car has always been garaged in Pasadena CA. , as it was used as a 3rd car car for trips to the grocery store and back. It has spent its entire life as a California car , and far from the ocean so rust is not an issue . it has 82k original miles . note: in the photograph of the passenger side , the rear door appears to not line up correctly . this is due to the door not being fully closed when i took the photo . i just noticed this . The car starts right up and immediately idles perfect . not even any need to touch the gas pedal beyond the initial start , it simply starts and idles perfectly and quietly . the car drives and runs silky smooth . everything appears to be working . all lights , exterior and interior work. there is a squeak coming from the drivers side suspension while driving, when the road is bumpy . but power steering is perfect and drives straight . suspension seems to be as it should , responsive and sturdy . no clanks or odd noises , other than the squeaky drivers side front . Engine is strong and seems to have much power to spare. transmission shifts and operates as it should . no slipping or operation issues of any kind. The interior has the Gucci trim package , 1 of around 2,600 made in 72. on a scale of 1-10 , i would give it a strong 9 . . there is a tear along the stitching on the passenger front seat . could be easily re-sewn to correct . The dashboard is flawless and without issue . i mean i haven't gone over the car with a magnifying glass , but dash has no sign of a crack of even a fade. . the other seats and carpet are practically new from factory looking . The Headliner May or May not be original , It is Not the GUCCI GG headliner that ive been told it should have come with . The headliner is a tan color in excellent condition and has no rips or discoloration. I've been told different things about the origin of the headliner . some say its factory while others say its not . it has the original spare tire and accessories , in untouched condition , as it was never used . The car has air conditioning . The brakes are in need of some attention . it was stored with all fluids removed . I recently filled with brake fluid , and brakes came back to life , although the pedal goes pretty far down before brakes engage so im sure it needs to be bled . it has front disc and rear drum . i haven't taken off the wheels to inspect the brakes but i would recommend that the brakes and everything on the car be gone over by a mechanic to make this a reliable safe driver . the emergency/ parking brake works excellent , as it holds on my steep driveway without issue . the passenger door seems to be a repaint , as it has blue paint underneath . not sure of the reason and the car has not been in any accidents . the car has no sign of any type of collision with the exception of dings that night be the result of parking or fender bender type causes. the rear bumper has a dent in it . It can be fixed by pulling it off , knocking it out and re-chroming (if necessary ) There are a few other minor scrapes and dings , that are only noticeable upon close inspection. the rear hatch operates smoothly ,and raises up strong on it's own . , has original keys for all, and all locks work as they should . all the chrome shines up . Ive started to polish but only have progressed about halfway as of today . the paint is original , and is coming back to a nice shine upon waxing . i have only completed about half the car but will update pictures as i complete the wax and chrome polish . the engine bay is still quite dirty , as i have not cleaned it . I replaced the battery because the original one no longer held a charge . I have all original paperwork for the car including the window sticker from its purchase in 72 , it shows the options it was purchased with . as far as issues that the car has , it seems to be leaking transmission fluid . the transmission operates as it should , and there is no slipping or popping out of gear or difficulty placing in gear. the trans runs as it should . all gears are quiet . I really haven't even got under the car to check it . I acquired the car may 3rd and just haven't had the time or money to do a major tuneup and check it out . the radiator is without leak, and car stays cool . the brakes have quite a bit of play in the pedal . im assuming they need to be bled . there is no sign of fluid leaking there is a squeak emanating from drivers side front area , that is noticeable when navigating a bumpy road . the suspension seems good and responsive. the passenger side rear tire has a slow leak. these tires have plenty of tread but are at least 15 years old if not older so id say its wise to replace . there are a couple scrapes and dings on exterior , most notable is the rear bumper . other than that there a small issues that aren't noticeable unless your really up close and looking for problems the registration is of California , non op status , and it is current . there is no tickets or money owed on vehicle . the title is clean . the most Ive driven the car is around my neighborhood for short periods of time . i would say this car is in need of a complete going over and tune up , as it hasn't seen use in 15 years . i will update some photos in the next day or two . since i have been waxing and polishing the outside it looks much nicer than the current photos will show. my semi educated guess is the car would take up 1500 -2000$ to remedy any and all issues short of a paint job and make this a fully restored and reliable daily driver . tires/trans/brakes/tuneup/ding repair /rear bumper repair and re-chrome if nec. / are the things that require attention . so thats it . hope i didnt leave anything out . oh ive been told the front hood should have the gucci emblem but it does not . the hood is original factory , matching color and i do not believe its been replaced . there is no sign of any type of collision front or rear , that would have required the hood to be replaced . not sure why it does not have the hood ornament , but it doesnt .
