Up for auction is a wonderful, original example of the Sears Allstate Moped sold at the Sears stores and through the catalog in the 1950's and 1960's. This Moped is in exceptional condition considering its age. Paint certainly appears to be original--I do not want to say for certain since I am not an expert but it looks very original to me. Engine runs and shifts. Could use additional tuning for improved performance. Clutch works fine but will slip some if motor is accelerated too quickly. Tires have age cracks but hold air. Front tire has Sears name in a circle and does have age cracks. Rear tire possibly has been replaced at some time in the past and is in fair condition and has Austria molded on sidewall. I put mileage at 1000 miles because I do not know actual mileage--speedometer needle works but odometer does not turn over--mileage shown is one mile but bike has obviously been used and has more mileage. Also is a BILL OF SALE ONLY--I had to put CLEAR TITLE because there was no other choice I could use. Also, I am not certain of the model year--based on research I have done I believe it to be either a 1959 or a 1960 but I do not know for sure--please do your own research to determine the model year of this moped. These mopeds are highly collectable and very rare to find one in this condition. I found the moped on Ebay up in the Chicago area and I have owned and enjoyed it for a couple of years. I take it to car and motorcycle cruise-ins and it always draws a crowd. Moped is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end this auction if it sells. I am starting at what I believe is a fair reserve price considering how rare this item is. If it does not sell now I will try again later. I have too many toys and I just bought another one so I have to make room. Time for this wonderful moped to bring joy to a new owner.
