Vehicle Detail
1973 Volvo 1800 es Sports Estate Wagon, with 127,308 miles. Engine is the B20 1,986cc I4. Transmission is 4-speed manual M41 with Laycock overdrive. Bosch Fuel Injection system. The car starts up, runs, and drives (seems to shift fine) but shuts off as soon as it is warm. I have other projects and just don't have the time to deal with at the moment. It seems like a fuel pump issue as the fuel pressure drops as soon as it has ran for a minute or two, and the pressure is not adjustable after that point. The car sat from 2007 until just recently when I purchased it. I cleaned out the gas tank, replaced all the rubber fuel lines on the top end, changed all fluids, and replaced all fuses with modern more reliable ones (was still using the old style exposed filament fuse). I have no doubt that someone could easily turn this into a daily driver or even fully restore. Only approx. 1650 were imported into the US. Has minimal rust. Body is very straight. Most notable cosmetic blemish is the cracked windshield. replacements are fairly inexpensive and easy to find here on eBay or Craigslist. Roof rack option. Also has Factory A/C. No leaks whatsoever. Car was originally "Cypress Green" but previous owner had professionally painted to the current yellow. Seats will need re-upholstery. The foam is full, sturdy, and springy. Back seat looks like it has never been sat in (see photo). Car was meticulously maintained and very detailed records were kept since 1978. Literature and documentation included with car: Binder full of service and maintenance records with mileage stamps Shop manualOriginal service manual"Swedish Iron" - a book about the Volvo 1800 and it's history. Some of the more notable services performed on vehicle: New brake master cylinder at 124,728 New dual glasspack mufflers with exhaust piping (see photos) New Distributor Cap and Rotor at 127,120New spark plug wires at 127,120New Lower A-arm bushes at 127,000New water pump at 117,050 Car will also come with 8 unused oil filters, Jack, and tool kit (sans pouch). I have clear Washington title in hand. I am selling the car with no reserve, starting the bidding at $2500, with a buy it now of $4500. The car is being sold as-is, where-is. Located in Lake Tapps, WA 98391. These cars are well-known for their quality engineering and as a result, their reliability. This is the same model-line as the current world record holder for most miles driven by a non-commercial vehicle with 3+ million miles, so with a little TLC and lots of love, this car has 2,866,000+ miles left in its life. If you would like to see a .pdf of the binder with all the service records, just send your email via the eBay message system and I will send it over. Please feel free to email with any questions using the eBay messaging system. ------------- Please Read: Shipping is entirely the responsibility of the buyer, though I am happy to assist your shipper however I can to get the car to you as quickly as possible.
