Vehicle Detail
Purchased this truck as a fun revival project. Sitting since 1990 with original black plates and had a small camper on it. Optioned as a Camper Special with trim package, heavy duty power drum brakes, non a/c truck and has manual steering. Has the 360 2V engine. Over the last two weeks this work has been done. I rebuilt the carb, put a new fuel pump on it and changed the fuel hoses and fuel filter. Then I put on new points, rotor, cap, plugs, wires, starter, starter solenoid and fresh battery. Then I changed oil, filter, valve cover gaskets, had air cleaner bead blasted and repainted it, sanded and repainted valve covers too. I removed the fuel tank and replaced it with a new one that was bought six years ago for another F250 I have but never used and it RUNS GREAT! No smoke, no knocks, no problems. Drivers side exhaust manifold is cracked and I have a stronger replacement(finned type by Ford) to go with plus gaskets and donuts for both sides. Miles say 26,000, more than likely 126000 but if original owner swore 26k was original I wouldn't doubt it. I then replaced master cylinder, all four wheel cylinders, two front brake hoses, added new hardware kit and adjustment kits at brakes. Replaced all four wheel drum seals plus rear axle seals and differencial cover seal. Brakes now work just fine. Power drum all around with the heavy duty 12x2 1/2 set up. Driven around side streets here with no problems. I replaced all four flat tires with a two nice pairs from local tire shop after cleaning, sanding and repainting original rims. Three hubcaps shown and I do have fourth, all are straight and presentable. Doors close nice and are straight, no hang ups. Weatherstrip not torn anywhere around doors. Front seat had split at the seam on drivers side and was resewed. Paint looks ok but of course would need to be repainted to be perfect if you cared, I think it looks fine alittle weathered like this. There is no rust through on this trucks body or frame. Some rust at battery tray but is minor. Bed is free of dents and damage because of camper protecting it. It was splattered painted for protection before camper put on. Both taillights are cracked but they can be bought cheap brand new. Chrome is pitted on emblems and handles. Grill is perfectly straight but could use buff. Rear window weatherstrip dry and cracking but there is no rust in or around it on either side. Tail gate included, not the original as truck did not have one due to camper, it needs to be bead blasted and cleaned up but is straight. I have the original 4x4 inch California pink(title).
