Vehicle Detail
Up for bidding is a 1983 Dodge 400 convertible. This is a very rare model, as it was only produced for 1982 1/2 and 1983 in the convertible trim. It has the 2.2L SOHC 4 cylinder engine and a 3 speed automatic transmission. It runs, shifts, and drives pretty well. It's a fairly basic model with manual windows and door locks but the convertible roof is power and works perfectly. It just had a new electric fuel pump and all new fuel hoses put in under the hood as well as a new valve cover gasket. New passenger side brake caliper and the rotors were also turned since they were slightly warped so now it stops very smoothly. The top is in very good shape with no rips and the plastic rear window is still very clear with no cracks or damage. Tires are all in decent shape but they are older. The AM radio still works decent and the speaker sounds as good as AM can sound. The wipers work as does the washer. Heat works great, too. Horn works and the lights all work fine. The top parade boot is in excellent shape and is included with the car. Leather steering wheel is in decent condition for the age and the tilt steering column works fine with no play in the mechanism. Digital clock is still ticking away! The inside is in very good shape. The vinyl seats are surprisingly nice for their age and very comfortable. Dash pad isn't cracked or damaged, either. Issues that we've found is that it could use a tune up, the driver window regulator has a "dead" spot in the gear (window still works fine), passenger cv shaft needs a quick boot thrown on it, and that the trunk key was lost by the previous owner. Nothing that's a big deal or effects how it runs or drives. Anyway, it's a very nice car for it's age. It looks absolutely gorgeous for it's age and it drives pretty nice. It's been in storage for many years (I think around 4) so it is obviously being sold on an as-is basis. Deposit of $500 is due by paypal within 24 hours of the end of the auction, balance is due within 7 days with cash. If you want to pay with a check or money order, the title and car will be held until payment clears (about two weeks usually). Vehicle must be removed from my garage within 30 days or it will be relisted and anything paid on it will be forfeited. If you have zero feedback, please contact me before bidding or your bid will be cancelled. Sorry for all the rules but, unfortunately, it has to be said. Please note, vehicle is also listed locally so auction can be cancelled at any time. Happy bidding and please give this 31 year old classic a great home!
