I bought this car in March 2012 with 17,940 miles. It came out of the original owners estate where it had always been garaged and was obviously pampered. It had not been driven in almost ten years. The car is as it came from the factory. The paint, interior, trim and stripes reflect it's low miles and care over the years.There are only a few very minor blemishes and absolutely no rust. This is a car that needs no body, paint or interior work and can be shown as an unrestored original. It has the 258 6 cylinder engine, automatic transmission, power steering, power front disk brakes, air conditioning (works but needs a recharge), AM/FM, and power door locks. It is the upgraded hatchback DL model with fold down rear seats and lighter blue hockey stick stripes on the side. Because of it's age I replaced the following: 4 new ww tires, battery, all new hoses and belts, water pump and thermostat, fuel pump and gas filter. The carb was rebuilt and a complete tune up and servicing has been performed. The car drives well at freeway speeds, is good on gas and passed California smog easily in Oct 2013. The gas and temp gauges do not work and the heater is by passed. All other lights and accessories work fine. This is an unusual, inexpensive and fun collector car to own and show. When was the last time you saw one. It is the successor to the Gremlin and Hornet that were in production for 17 years. Parts are easily available, most from NAPA. My health is limiting my driving and forcing the sale. The car is garaged in Oceanside California.
