This is an original numbers matching,1972 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400,th400, not a clone,with actual vin# 2U87T2N515272. this1972 Pontiac firebird, is not being sold as a show quality car,but a good daily drive.The car was originally sunlight yellow. The engine has been completely re-built. The car has the original factory fiberglass dual snorkel scoop hood. It has factory rally II wheels with good(slightly weather checked) tires. The body on this car is nice and straight. It has all the chrome and emblems on it. The car has black interior in good shape,with a new headliner,(which needs a slight bit of tightning). The car does have a clear Oregon title with no brands, title is currently in my name. The car is primered grey and with a little body prep work is ready for paint. This car runs and drives well. The car has a new windshield,and the rest is good glass, no cracks,but back windshield has a couple of scratches on it . This car runs great and is dependable. It has no leaks of any kind, no brake, coolant, oil, transmission or engine, or power steering leaks at all. It handles nice and is easy and fun to drive. This car has the factory 1 1/8" front sway bar and 5/8" rear sway bar. The car has power brakes. It has the factory complete set of original 14x7" rally II wheels complete with new lug nuts, all the rings and caps. The brakes work very well,with new front calipers,and pads,and new rear brake cylinders. even the E-brake. Brakes don’t pull when stopping. The pads and shoes are recently new. Rear end is a factory open dif,not a posi. The engine is a great running 1972 400- 4 barrel engine ZS code with 7K3 heads.engine code number is ZS144632. Engine has great oil pressure, 60 + psi and stays cool ,WITH A 4 CORE RADIATOR,and does not over-heat, runs right at 160 degrees. The engine has been completely rebuilt, bored 30 over,with new pistons and rings, new clevitte 77 rod and main bearings,new melling oil pump, new cam and lifters, High Energy Ignition distributor, quadrajet 4 barrel carburetor, cast iron exhaust manifolds,a new set of thurbo mufflers. new,hi volume,high pressure fuel pump. all new gaskets and seals in engine, accel hi temp super stock radio suppression core 8 MM spark plug wires, and # 26 autolite spark plugs. Engine has about 50 miles,since rebuild,and is a daily driver. Engine will run well on premium pump gas and does not require any extra octane booster. The transmission is the original numbers matching turbo 400 . Transmission,has a new filter,and fluid, shifts quick,without any slippage,or sounds. The car comes with a 5th rally II wheel and tire for a spare. Also comes with a working jack and lug wrench. The car has dual flow exhaust, sounds really nice. The engine starts easy and runs well and has lots of power. The interior is black and in good condition. The front seats are worn and need to be re-upholstered, but has new seat covers on them .the back seats look good,without any visable rips,or tares in them. The carpet is new.The headliner is new,and could use some final tightening.. The door panels, center console and plastic panels inside are in good shape,for a daily driver.The dash is very nice,without any cracks in it.The car has working full instrument gauges, 160mph speedometer, volt gauge, fuel gauge works.has a new stainless steel gas tank,and new sending unit. The clock does not work. The oil pressure and water temperature are hooked up to after market gauges located in the center of the dash over the radio opening,without cutting any part out,and the Radio opening has not been cut or modified so a factory radio will still fit in just fine.the radio shown in car does not work.It has a wood grain dash bezel,in fair shape,with matching steering wheel. This car is a factory air conditioning car. The air conditioning compressor,has been removed,but the radiator,and housing, is still there.the compressor,and most of the necessary attachments,can be included,if the buyer would want them.The heater works well., the temperature switch works good. All of the lights work. The head lights (on high and low beam), brake lights, park lights, and the turn lights, hazard lights, all work well.The horn does not currently work,but has most all components to make work, The windshield wipers work well on both speeds and are the hideaway style wipers.this car has all new door seals,top and bottom.doors open and close fine. The floor pans,on the back seat area were replaced. rear quarters,had usual rust,but has been repaired.the front valance is not rusted,and in excellent shape. no rust on bottom of doors or fenders, no rust around windows of the car. the trunk pan has had part of the lower section replaced and welded in and refinished.with carpet installed.the bondo spots on the car, are a part section on pass side door,from a minor bend.some on rear quarters,covering welded in sections,and a few spots on roof area.The body on this car is in great shape. This car looks great and runs well. It is very hard to find an original 1972 firebird formula in this nice of shape,considering the overall age,and ,originally.it is a great daily driver.
