Vehicle Detail
1968 Mustang Convertible with many upgrades, including a solid drivetrain and improved suspension parts, but it has some cosmetic flaws. This is a great car for someone that wants a car that can be driven, but has some projects to tinker with. I have many new and extra parts for the car. These will be given to the buyer. Between the engine, transmission, rear axel, suspension, steering, brakes, wheels, and new top, more than $15,000 has been spent on parts while I have owned the car. I encourage you to ask questions to ensure you know everything you want to about the car. The good stuff:The engine is a 351 Windsor V8, stoked to 393 cubic inches. The engine has about 6,000 miles on it. The 5-speed TKO transmission and the Currie 9-inch limited slip rear have been in the car a little longer, and have about 10,000 miles on them. The other upgrades include manual rack and pinion steering, front disc brakes, and tubular upper and lower front control arms. The car drives great, and has plenty of power. The convertible top was replace a couple years ago and is in great shape. The dashboard has been upgraded with Autometer gauges. The battery has been relocated to the trunk to improve the appearance in the engine compartment. The opportunities for improvement:Cosmetically, there are a some flaws. Most of the paint looks great, but in the pictures you will see a few spots of rust. Some of the areas have been cleaned and sprayed with primer to protect the metal. Some trim pieces were removed in these areas, but I have the parts and they will come with the car.The front valence is dented, which is viewable in the pictures. The dent was caused by a careless tow truck operator. The front bumper is lightly dented, but I have a new bumper still in the wrapper that comes with the car. The bumper was backed into by someone while they were parallel parking. On the interior, the carpet is faded. The front seats in the car are from a mid-90s Mustang, which were installed for better comfort and support. I also have the original seats, which come with the car.The interior panels on the sides of the rear seat are not in great shape. The electric fan controller broke, so it is wired to stay on all of the time.
