Video Walk around: INTRO: I have a tornado red 1999 beetle tdi diesel 5 speed manual with 251k low miles for a diesel. Go to tdiclub dot com and see tdi's with 400-600 even 900k and still driving great. I average 50 in the summer and 43mpg in the winter. I took a trip to Vermont a 6 hour round trip and did the whole trip on 3/4 tank of fuel :) can't beat that. Recent repairs: Inspected till may 2015 100k timing belt kit and water pump at 221k $900 Synthetic rotella 5w40 oil used its whole lifeNew battery New glow plugs and glow plug wire harness Brakes recently installed New rear wheel bearings and parking brake cables New Passenger window regulator. Good: EMISSION EXEMPT state inspections Good year tires in good shape 70+%No CEL engine lights on the dashStarts the first time even in the freezing ny winter monthsPrevious owner was a diesel mechanic for the state. Extras: Smoked euro spec headlights Bosio pp520 nozzles for little extra hp and better fuel mileage Upgraded alpine stereo with blue tooth and ipod controls Upgraded kenwood speakers Upgraded heated black leather seatsThule roof rack with keys Needing Attention: Rock chips on the hoodRocker panels undercoated for looks not rust. can easily be taken off A/c needs recharge isn't as cold as it was last summer Background: I've owned tdi's for 9 years and love them. They are strong, durable (900k miles) and get great mpg over a gas counterpart. I commute over 100 miles a day for work and I easily save a car payment a month in fuel by driving a tdi. I've done so well that I've convenience my family to get tdi's; All my brothers own a tdi. (see the photo of them in my driveway all diesel :-D). I'm selling this beetle because I'm in need of a pickup truck to do some jobs around the house. (May trade for a Tacoma or Chevy Colorado ) The beetle needs nothing for inspection runs and drives great (will go anywhere). Last year I have taken it on trips to vt, ga and tx to see family. Shipping: I can get you a 30 day temp tag for any out of state buyer to drive the beetle back home; just need 20 dollars and proof of insurance.
