Vehicle Detail
1944 (October) Willys jeep. Frame off restoration with only 551 miles since completed. Jeep has been rebuilt using NOS proper parts. The jeep has the original body and engine which has been rebuilt.Tires are new and the jeep has the proper shovel mounted on the side but no axe or bracket. There is a rifle rack mounted on the dash and a rare grease gun holder under the hood. The water can on the rear is dated 1942. There is no known rust. The jeep spent much of it's life in northern California and was owned for aprox. 20 years by an older gentleman who had it redone. I purchased it over the winter (on a whim) but really don't have much use for it. There are no known issues with the jeep however I think the shift linkage needs adjusted. The transmission like the rest of the vehicle has been rebuilt. The markings on the jeep indicate the previous owners military unit when he was in the service. The bonnet numbers are his choice and do not reflect the proper 20 series MB number sequence, but are easily changed. I have a clear title in hand. The jeep is sold as is, where is with no warranty stated or implied. A $1000. deposit will be required within 48 hours of the auctions end from the winning bidder with the remainder of the funds to be sent and cleared with my bank prior to the title or vehicle being released. I would prefer cash, a major bank check or PayPal. As the pictures show, this is a very nice vehicle, a piece of history that you can enjoy for years to come. On May-15-14 at 20:44:08 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to say that the jeep has 5 combat rims on it (a 2 piece rim so tires could be changed/mounted in the field without a tire machine). These are also rare and in great shape. The jeep has been re wired with a new harness, etc. but the horn does not work. The frame is the original, correct MB frame, with the MG mounting support in the center and the Willys "humped" front cross member. The seats are "F" marked indicating they were Ford made. This is not unusual for a jeep of this vintage. The drive train/axles are Willys.. Brakes have new pads/lines and new DOT 5 fluid with a solid pedal. Steering is tight and responsive with no "slop".
