This is a 1961 Thunderbird that I got about a year ago. I have too many projects and this one has to be passed on. I got this car from a man in Kansas, it had set in his garage for the past nine years. I have the fender skirts for the car in the trunk. The 390 motor had been rebuilt 9 years ago. The transmission had been gone through also at that time. The car starts up, runs and drives. The brakes were replaced including new brake lines, shoes, master cylinder and work great. The power steering works great. The power windows and seat work great. The car was originally black and is now red. The paint needs freshening up, is a 20 footer. Looks good from a distance but up close you can see flaws and chips. I cannot see any rust on the body panels or the frame. The car has new shocks and the tires are near new. The doors open and close tight and are aligned well. The interior needs restored, but is functional. It is an air conditioned car, but the a/c lines are not hooked up, but has a new compressor and the not hooked up lines are in the trunk along with a few extra parts. I got a complete set of brand new dual exhaust pipes and mufflers with the car and had them installed, so the exhaust is new. I think that with a small amount of time and money invested, this could be a great show car. I went to a car show with it and won a trophy for being in the top thirty (of 120 cars), but that does not come with the car. The main problems with these old cars is rust and this car doesn't have any that I can see. It is very solid. I have a low starting price and there is no reserve on this car.
