Vehicle Detail
I bought this truck out of southern Pennsylvania about 5 years ago. I believe I am the third owner but cannot document that. It had been sitting awhile. I did the brakes 100% to include shoes, wh cyl kits, hoses, lines as needed, master cyl kit, and hardware as needed. Tune up with plugs, points, cap, rotor wires, carb kit. Gas tank pulled and checked out ok. New clutch master & slave cyl. Shocks pulled and checked ok. Exhaust was shot so a custom dual system was built using Hedman headers as one original manifold was cracked. It is tight and quiet. Last year a new battery and 10 ply radial tires were added. The truck has very rare factory stainless steel west coast type mirrors as well as an equally rare inside day/night mirror. It even has period correct "aerodynamic" stainless wiper blade arms! It still has the original jack & lug wrench, underneath spare tire carrier as well as a bed carrier but no spare tire. It has a class III trailer hitch with correct and working 7 pin wiring connection. There is a Tekonsha electric brake control in the cab but it is not working. I never messed with it. Factory step bumper. Owner's manual included. The mileage was in the 62,000 range when I bought the truck but at 66,446 the speedo broke due to the wrong cable (too long). I replaced it with a used speedo showing 79,085 miles and the correct cable. It works perfectly. I estimate the actual mileage at not much more than 67,000 but I cannot document it other than showing the pictures of both speedometers. All lights, horn, wipers etc. work. It has a complete intact factory windshield washer system but I have never tried it. Things I know it needs: drivers vent cable; heater cable froze in "on" position; passenger door does not lock with key (link missing); door window weather strip and cat whiskers. Soft plugs should be changed but not currently leaking. As far as rust, everybody has their own ideas & standards. The truck has rust and has had rust repair and a repaint in the past. The driver's floor has been repaired as have the running board step rocker areas.. The inner front fender wells by the hood hinges show previous repair. A previous owner lined the bed floor & sides with 1/8 steel plate however looking underneath the original bed floor & sides do not appear all rusted out. The truck appears today pretty much as I bought it. It is very solid in my opinion, doors open & close with no sag. Tailgate has had some repair to the right side hinge area but works as it should. Overall this truck runs & drives very well. Starts right up and does not smoke. It is not a show piece but for a 46 year old Dodge truck in upstate New York it is in very good overall condition. It is currently licensed and inspected, runs & drives well. I have tried to describe this truck as accurately as possible but I may have overlooked something. I encourage anyone interested to come for a personal inspection and to ask any questions you may have. If you need any specific pictures I will oblige. I will not ship this vehicle. It is "as is where is". If reserve is met I will include some power steering components I have collected: pump, ram, drag link, misc hoses of which I have over $300 invested. If you have 5 or less positive feedback, you need to contact me first or I will delete your bid. Thanks for your consideration.
