Vehicle Detail
This is a decent 40 year old car that could use restoration while you enjoy it. I am moving and therefore would rather sell it than take it with me across country. The non-original paint is tired but looks fine in the photos. It is not fine up close! The interior white leather upholstery is original and the tan dash is now black. I have done the following in the last 4 months: New Timing Chain New Distributor New Alternator New Aluminum Water Pump New Thermostat w/ correct 351c block plate (Runs cooler) New battery tray & hold down. New Dual Exhaust with Flowmaster Mufflers & Chrome Tips (from manifolds back) Newer Mustang Alloy Wheels & Decent Tires This car originally had Air Conditioning but it has been removed from the engine compartment. Refurbished Air Cleaner New Hoses New Headlight Bulbs New "Ignitior" Breakerless Ignition (No more points) Rear shocks are red and appear to be new The power top works well but the material is old, has patches & back window is a mess. The white leather interior is original Cougar. The paint is tired and should be redone. The car was originally a light yellow color. These cars are susceptible to rust like a mustang of the same era. It has a few bubbles in the rockers below the doors and at the bottom corner of the doors. The trunk is solid after the former owner replaced a section. There is some rust below the battery box which is common. As far as I can see the frame looks great. Any questions please ask. I do not want to see anyone unhappy with their purchase by thinking they are getting a pristine example of the car. It is a very nice car for the money. PLEASE NOTE: The VIN number on the dash & clean Indiana title are for a 1973 hardtop. It appears that the dash was changed to black many years ago with one from a 1973 hardtop. The actual VIN located on the passenger fender is 3F94H517261 and is correct for the car. The Car was originally light yellow with Ginger (tan) interior, white leather up upholstery & a white convertible top.
