THE REAR WHEEL WELLS HAD SOME ROT, NOT A LOT, BUT SOME. I GRINDED THE RUSTY STUFF OUT, TACKED METAL IN BEHIND THE SMALL RUST HOLES AND BODY FILLED OVER THAT. I AM NOT THE BEST AT THIS! YOU CAN SEE MY BODY WORK IN THE PICTURES... IT IS NOT PERFECT BUT IS NOW VERY SOLID. ALL THE PAINT IS INDUSTRIAL, SINGLE STAGE ENAMEL... NOT SPRAY PAINT!!! THIS IS HARDENED, TOUGH ENAMEL! THE SAME STUFF USED TO PAINT CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT!!!THERE WERE A FEW OTHER SPOTS THAT NEEDED THE SAME TREATMENT. THIS TRUCK HAD NEVER BEEN RESTORED SO IT DID NEED SOME WORK. BUT ALL IN ALL, I USED LESS THAN A QUART OF BODY FILLER. AGAIN, MY INTENTION WAS NOT TO MAKE A SHOW TRUCK, BUT A GOOD LOOKING SHOP/WORK TRUCK. THE HOOD IS PROBABLY THE WORST OF THE BODY... UNDERNEATH THE EDGES ARE ROTTING AWAY SO I EDGED THEM WITH METAL TAPE AND GLAZED THEM FOR APPEARANCE. IF YOU WANT IT ALL PERFECT, THERE WILL BE A LOT OF LITTLE DENTS AND DINGS YOU WILL NEED TO PULL ON THE TRUCK AND SAND DOWN SOME OF MY BODYWORK AND REPAINT. THE BED IS PRETTY GOOD AND IS VERY SOLID THOUGH IT DOES HAVE A FEW SMALL HOLES HERE AND THERE BUT HAULS A LOAD JUST FINE. IT IS VERY SOLID. I DID NOT PAINT THE INSIDE OF THE BED BECAUSE I WANTED TO PUT IN A HARD PLASTIC BEDLINER, OR A ROLL ON BEDLINER. THE TAILGATE LATCH DOESNT ALWAYS LATCH RIGHT, LIKE THEY ALL DO. THE DOORS SHUT WELL AND FLUSH ALL THE WAY AROUND. THE INNER DOOR PANELS HAD A LITTLE ROT, (MOSTLY ON THE PASSENGERS SIDE) BUT THE OUTER PANEL WAS FINE. SO I REMOVED THE RUST AND FILLED THAT AS WELL. THE FLOORS ALL SEEM SOLID AS CAN BE. THE CARPET YOU SEE IS ACTUALLY A GLUED DOWN PADDING THAT GOES UNDER CARPET. IT LOOKS GOOD BUT YOU COULD ORDER THE MOLDED CARPET IF YOU'D LIKE. I DID NOT PULL THIS UP BUT BANGED ON THE FLOORS ALL OVER... THEY ARE SOLID. I DID HAVE THE SEAT OUT THOUGH AND THE FLOOR UNDER THERE IS GOOD AS WELL. THE UNDER CARRAIGE IS GREAT. THERE IS SOME SURFACE RUST BUT IT WAS UNDER COATED AT ONE TIME. THE ONLY SURFACE RUST IS WHERE THE COATING HAS COME OFF. THE UNDERSIDE IS NOT ROTTED AT ALL!!! THE CHROME MIRRORS ARE PITTED. THE DRIVERS TAIL LIGHT LENS IS BROKEN, THE GRILLE ASSEMBLY IS DENTED UP... YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO SEE ALL OF THIS IN THE PICTURES... PLEASE BE SURE TO LOOK THEM OVER WELL SO THERE ARE NO SURPRISES! ALL THE GLASS IS GREAT! THE SPARE TIRE HOLDER UNDER THE TRUCK IS PRESENT BUT I HAVE NO SPARE. THE BOLT IS MISSING FOR THE HOLDER SO IT IS BUNGEE CORDED UP RIGHT NOW. IT'S JUST A NORMAL BOLT THAT IT NEEDS.THE INTERIOR AND CAB:AS YOU CAN SEE IT'S PRETTY COOL! THE SHIFT BOOT IS TORN.. ALL THE DOOR SEALS ARE PRESENT AND IT DOES NOT LEAK AT ALL WHEN IT RAINS. THE SEAT DOES HAVE TO BE ALL THE WAY BACK FOR YOU TO GET INTO 1ST AND 3RD GEARS... I AM 5'10" TALL AND CAN REACH EVERYTHING JUST FINE WITH THE SEAT ALL THE WAY BACK. THE PLASTIC INTERIOR DOOR PANELS ARE NOT PERFECT AS YOU CAN SEE... I WOULD HAVE LIKED TO REPLACED THOSE BUT THEY WILL DO FOR NOW. I REMOVED ALL INTERIOR AND REPAINTED ALL THE METAL AFTER COMPLETELY CLEANING IT ALL AND SANDING IT. THEN I PUT IN THE BLUE BANDANA PATCH INS. EVERYTHING IS GLUED IN WITH INDUSTRIAL ADHESIVE. THE HEADLINER, THE VISORS, THE DASH PAD AND ALL ARE GLUED PROPERLY. THE SEAT SECTIONS WITH THE BLUE BANDANA MATERIAL IS DONE THE SAME WAY. EVERYTHING ON THIS TRUCK WAS DONE WITH INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH MATERIAL TO ENSURE IT WOULD LAST. THE INTERIOR METAL IS ALSO PAINTED WITH INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH PAINT. THE GAUGES ALL WORK. THERE IS A RADIO IN THERE... I GUESS THE ORIGINAL... BUT NO SPEAKERS IN THE DOORS SO I DON'T KNOW IF IT WORKS? THE HEAT WORKS GREAT!!! THE WINDOWS GO UP AND DOWN WELL, THE WIPERS WORK WELL... MAYBE NEED NEW BLADES THOUGH. LOOK AT THE PIC THROUGH THE WINDSJIELD... ON THE BACK SIDE OF THE DASH PAD, THERE IS A DECORATIVE CHROME PIECE OF TRIM MISSING THERE...WHEN YOU GET IN THIS COOL TRUCK TO GO DOWN THE ROAD.. IT'S COMFY, YOU KNOW IT LOOKS GOOD AND YOU JUST PUMP THE GAS 2 TIMES, TURN THE KEY, AND LISTEN TO HER PURR! WHICH LEADS ME TO THE NEXT DESCRIPTION...THE MECHANICS:THE TRUCK RUNS LIKE A TOP! I DIDN'T CLEAN THE ENGINE UP OR PAINT IT OR ANYTHING BUT IT RUNS SO GOOD! IT HAS NOT LEAKED OR BURNED ONE DROP OF OIL, IT DOESN'T LEAK COOLANT, IT DOESN'T SMOKE... IT RUNS VERY WELL. I WOULDN'T HAVE PUT THIS MUCH EFFORT INTO IT IF IT DIDN'T. I WAS TOLD IT REALLY HAS 48,XXX MILES ON IT??? WHO KNOWS??? THE FRONT END HAS BEEN ALL GONE OVER... IT DOESN'T SWAY OR WONDER GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY OR ANYTHING. IT ISN'T ALL SQUEEKY OR NOISY. IT HAS NEW TIE ROD ENDS, DRAG LINK AND ALL... IT HAS POWER STEERING AND MANUAL BRAKES. THE BRAKES ARE ALL GOOD ALL THE WAY AROUND AND HAS NEW BRAKE LINES. IT HAS A NEW MUFFLER AND TAIL PIPE AND HAS A CATYLITIC CONVERTER STILL IN PLACE. IT HAS NO EXHAUST LEAKS. SO THE STEERING AND BRAKES ARE ALL VERY GOOD... AGAIN, THE ENGINE IS GREAT! IF YOU DO NOT KNOW ABOUT THESE ENGINES... LOOK THEM UP, THEY ARE UNSTOPPABLE! THIS THINGS WILL SPIN TIRES ALL DAY LONG IF YOU WANT! AS MENTIONED, PUMP THE GAS 2 TIMES AND HIT THE KEY... SHE FIRES RIGHT UP EVERY TIME! SHE DOESNT STALL, HESITATE OR ANYTHING! THE CLUTCH IS GREAT AND HAS NO ISSUES! IT HAS A BOX UNDER THE DASH FOR AIR SUSPENSION.. IVE NEVER MESSED WITH IT BUT IT DOES HANG DOWN AND NEEDS TO BE MOUNTED DIFFERENTLY AS THE LITTLE MOUNT IS BROKEN. BUT IT IS ONLY A LITTLE PLASTIC BOX. THE TIRES HOLD AIR, ARE NOT ROTTED AND WILL GET YOU BY BUT THEY ARE GETTING LOW ON TREAD. MAYBE YOU CAN GET ANOTHER 10,000 MILES OUT OF THEM.. THEY ARE WORN EVENLY AND GOOD TO GO DOWN THE HIGHWAY ON. THE AIR INTAKE, ACCORDIAN STYLE HOSE TO THE AIR CLEANER HAS TEARS AND NEEDS REPLACED.I HOPE I EXPLAINED EVERYTHING... I DO ENCOURAGE YOU TO LOOK AT THE TRUCK IN PERSON BEFORE BIDDING. On May-07-14 at 18:16:52 PDT, seller added the following information: An Ebay member wrote in asking about cab mounts so I checked each one for him. none of them are rotted out at all! They are all solid as a rock! The rubbers of course are dry and cracking, but that's normal... they are all there though as well, not falling apart! SO, CAB MOUNTS ARE GREAT! I would, if I was keeping this truck, hit the hole underside with a wire wheel where the under coating as come off and recoat it. It is well worth the work as it has a ton of potential!
