Hi, this Impala was purchased from the original owner,...yes a little old lady. As she explained to me car was their daily driver until 1968 when they purchased a new SS 396 4-sp Impala. The '61 was last licensed and driven on the street around 1983 because they still had the '68 SS 396 Impala, a '71 LS-6 4-sp Chevelle and a '75 Corvette plus their daily driver cars. The '61 needed tires and brakes so they didn't renew license sticker. . Her husband and son would drive it on their property every now and then until around 1995. She said a brake line ruptured so they put it away in garage....that is where I found it about November 2013. The pic taken is how I first seen it when she opened garage. This car is all original, her husband shaved emblems but kept them as you can see in pics. He also painted over the factory white areas on body gold and had gold steel rims with Moon disc at one time. It has the original 348 engine from air cleaner to oil pan. Engine code is T I 207 F .... 250 hp, 355 ft lb torque 4-barrel. Last time engine was fired prior to me receiving Impala was 5 years ago,...that is when her husband past. I changed oil, spark plugs, spark plug wires, dist cap, rotor, points and condenser. I installed a fuel line to the carb coming from a lawn mower gas tank to hear it run,...it fired right up....very loud because exhaust past manifolds is rusted. This Impala needs a full restoration,..unless your into patina or rat-rod style. It has the typical rust around the eyebrows of the front fenders. Typical lower trunk pan rust, will need some floor pan and floor pan brace work, not complete just troubled areas, some are ok ...remember this car has lived its life in the Midwest... IL. Rest of body as normal door dings, dent in lower front pass rocker panel, dent in lower rear driver quarter panel. Pass hood hinge broken and has been welded, will need replaced. The wiring seems fine, it starts with key, dash idiot lights ok, headligts and park-lights came on too. I require a $500 deposit immediately at auctions end by PayPal.
