Vehicle Detail
I am moving onto a new project and have decided to sell my 1969 Porsche 912. This car has only 65,720 miles which might go up a little before the end of the auction if I decide to drive it on a nice day as I have for the past year. 1 year ago I purchased this from the 2nd owner who had purchased it in 1974 from Scott - Penske Porsche in Allentown PA. It had sat for several years under a car cover in his driveway. The paint shows what will happen if you leave a car outside under a car cover, even a good cover. The interior is in black and is in nice condition and has the wear a 65K car would have. Underneath the car is very solid as the photos show. The engine runs strong and does blow smoke, the 5 speed transmission shifts smooth and crisp, the brakes work as they should and the car handles very well. Here is a list of what I have done to this car within the last year: New battery, all shift bushings and replaced, rear torsion bar bushings and plates replaced, Brake system has been gone thru with new rubber hoses and system flushed, the engine has been service with valve adjustment, new valve cover seal using the good ones with the metal inserts, all fluid and filters changed, Solex P11 carbs have been rebuilt, all new fuel lines, the fuel tank was flushed and new hoses installed and new tires. The windshield seal was also replaced with the correct Porsche seal. This car was featured in Hemming's Sports and Exotic August 2013 Edition under the Drivable Dreams section. The original license plate holder from Scott-Porsche, original tool kit and seat belts as shown in the photos will go with the car. This car is not perfect by any means. Numerous small dents and imperfections are in the paint and there is a small spot of rust on the right rear door sill as shown in one photo but this car is really a great find in this condition. I had no plans to repaint it since I think what is left is the original paint. The new owner can decide if they would repaint it or not. If additional photos are needed or if you have a question please email me. If you would like to speak to me about this car please email me your name and a phone number where I can reach you. Shipping will be at the Buyers expense and the Buyer must make all arrangements. Inspection of this vehicle can be arranged but please do not wait until the end of the auction to try to make an appointment. A $500 non refundable deposit must be made within 24 hours of the close of this auction and Payment in Full must be made within 10 days or a non payment case will be filled with Ebay. Please do not bid on this car unless you have the funds to pay for it. I do not provide loans and test drives. Deposit payment must be made via PayPal and Payment in Full must be made by either cash, Certified Check or Bank to Bank Transfer. I will not release this car or it's title until my bank tells me the payment has cleared. I do not need help selling my vehicles and brokers should not contact me concerning this vehicle or any other offers. I have been selling on Ebay for many years and I will not response to scammers - Please do not contact me unless you intend to purchase this vehicle. Please do not ask for a Buy it Now price or what the reserve is. I will let this auction run to the end so that everyone has a fair chance to be the new owner. On May-03-14 at 18:01:00 PDT, seller added the following information: The rear sport valance is an original one. Very rare and desirable option. On May-04-14 at 06:08:10 PDT, seller added the following information: I made an error in the description: THE ENGINE DOES NOT BLOW SMOKE. Funny how one missed word can really change things. This care has always been in the Allentown PA area. First owner was a Lehigh Professor, second owner used it as a pleasure car. This has never been driven in snow or salt and is not rusted out like most east coast cars.On May-04-14 at 09:04:30 PDT, seller added the following information: This car has new Koni Inserts in the front and Koni Shocks in the rear. Ebay allows only 24 photos on a listing, if you email me and I can send additional photos. I have had many inquiries concerning ending the auction early - I will let everyone have the same chance to bid on this car and will let the auction run to the end.On May-05-14 at 01:43:21 PDT, seller added the following information: Paint Code is 68-6808-G Engine #4093205 To my knowledge the engine has never been apart. On May-06-14 at 10:00:40 PDT, seller added the following information: A new Bosch Starter was installed in this car September of 2013
