Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is the hard to find 1993 Geo Metro XFi edition. I bought this car when not running. Since then I have rebuilt the motor (20000 on rebuild) New fuel tank and fuel pump/filter, tires are good. Would drive across country. The Good, The Bad, The Ugly The Good: In addition to above it has the original radio (thou readout is dark), southwest car so no rust, interior food condition, no rips in seats, upholstery is dirty. New windshield. Hads original 5-speed manual transmission. Replaced original 2 ring pistons with the same (kept it in factory specs), includes original XFi camshaft and ECU so it is a true stock XFi. The Bad: The heater fan does not blow thou heat "seeps" out (heater works). Never came with AC like all XFi models. Back hatch hydraulics do not hold hatch door up and the interior trim piece fell off (I still have it and it comes with the car). The window trims are peeling and need repainting. The wiper fluid wash is currently not spraying. The Ugly: Not really allot ugly other than what was mentioned above. The body is fine just the usual small pings for a car just over 20 years old. Also, the driver door handles (inside & outside) work but are a little ruff, the driver window rolls up and down but seems like it is lose in the tracks. Everything else seems to work fine. Paint is original and was never repainted. Has a little oxidization on the hood and roof. Other Info: There is a way to test that the transmission is a true XFi gear ratio. If you google search you can find allot of information about these. I personally try to preserve a car and keep it in it's original factory condotion when I do refurbishing. I own 2 other Metros and need to sell 1 of the 3 so this is why I'm selling. Thou it gets 45 MPG easily, I was not that impressed with the xfi's claim to get 50+ MPG or more. Perhaps you can have better luck making that happen than I did. Best bidder wins this 1993 Geo Metro XFi. SHIPPING and Payment I will be willing to drive it and deliver to your front door if you give me a ride to the airport and pitch in an extra $100 over your winning bid for a plane ticket back to Albuquerque (where I'm from). Wipers work, just not the spray. High/low beams work and turn signals/ brake lights all work. As far as me delivering it to your front door... I will if you: 1) live in the 48 contigous states 2) give me a ride to the airport 3) pitch in an extra $100 over your winning bid for a plane ticket back to Albuquerque (where I'm from). Thanks for looking! On Apr-29-14 at 08:38:50 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE 4-29: I wish I could correct the spelling errors above but this listing only lets me ADD info, not edit and correct so, thanks for overlooking the typos! The interior is "Good" Being a Southwest area car, there is no rust at all underneath. The control arms and other suspension parts are healthy and rust free. The windshield was replaced so it is new, the dash has developed 1 crack above the center trim, It has a small oil seepage at the distributor seal, it does not drip thou. I park it in my driveway and it leaves no spots. The hood latches where replaced because at 1 time the hood was not fastened down all the way and it blew off. Perhaps that's why the windshield was replaced when I bought it. I found out from the CarFax above that I am the 2nd owner. I never knew I bought it from the original owner! Also, I didn't realize it was an XFi when I bought it until it was at my house and then I saw the sticker on the back. The VIN also confirms this.
