Vehicle Detail

1962 Chevrolet Impala 409 2-Door Hardtop Coupe (Non-SS)Nassau Blue (914) with Blue Cloth/VinylRARE bench seat, factory manual 4 on the floor T-10 transmission1,900 miles since restorationmatching numbers car3 owner car, always garagedmanual windows, manual steering, no AC12 bolt Chevy positraction rear enddual quads, 1963 409 cam, 425 horsepower I am selling this beautiful 1962 Chevrolet Impala 409 for a friend. Please message me with any questions and I will get them answered promptly. The car is located about 40 minutes north of Los Angeles. Car is for sale locally and we reserve the right to end the auction at any time. The reserve is set at a very reasonable price considering a Hagerty Condition 3 vehicle (which is what we rate this car to be) in 2013 was estimated to have a value of $79,600. This is a rare matching numbers car. We have no documentation, but the numbers on the engine block, heads, generator, carburetors, transmission, and rear end all have dates of 1962. It has always resided in the dry climate of the south west. It was originally purchased in Phoenix, AZ and then spent time in Tuscon, AZ and has been in the Los Angeles area for the past 3 years. This car has had one quality repaint when it was restored back in 2000 in its original Nassau Blue. The car only has a few rock chips and scratches in the paint. The biggest blemish is a chip in the clear on the trunk and I've included a photo of it below. The car was in such great original shape that a frame-off restoration was not deemed necessary. The car has won several first place car show awards since its restoration. The seats, door panels, headliner, and carpet were all reupholstered using factory correct materials in the original colors. The dash has no cracks. All gauges are in working order including the factory column mounted tachometer. This car is completely stock except for the front manual disc brakes, roller tip rockers, Griffin radiator, and 1963 409 cam. Also, the air cleaner was replaced with smaller chrome air cleaners. We do not have the original air cleaner as it was removed by the original owner. All of these are very common, favorable upgrades. The motor was rebuilt, but still has the original factory bore and has never been punched out. The car has no rust. The chrome only has a few scratches and is bright and not cloudy including the interior chrome details. This car does not have air conditioning. The floor pans and all the body panels are original to the car except the lower passenger rear quarter below the body line next to the wheel well, which was replaced with a 1962 panel from a parts yard at the time of restoration, so all paint is matching. A car hit the rear quarter which is why it was replaced. Please feel free to message with any questions or for the seller's phone number for serious buyers. He has a clear California title on hand. This car needs nothing to be a gorgeous daily driver or weekend show car. It runs fantastic and FAST! Car sold AS-IS. Local pick-up or I will be happy to arrange shipping anywhere in the United States at the buyers' expense. Thanks for your interest! picture share
