Vehicle Detail

1981 Porsche 928 euro model. Titled and registered as 1981, but decoding VIN indicates manufacturing year of 1982. VIN: WP0ZZZ92ZCS840136 Condition: This car runs and drives. Purchased about 7 years ago and driven occassionally as pleasure vehicle. It has been sitting in storage for about three years now with occassional start ups and drives, so we have decided to sell it. It has a relatively new clutch and transmission rebuild. The interior is pretty tired with some dash cracks. This is either a solid project car for someone who wants to do the interior, touch up the paint and get it tuned, and or a very nice donor car for mechanicals and body. Sale is as-is. Buyer must pick up. Payment by cash, wire transfer or certified check. Please contact me to come see the vehicle. On Apr-20-14 at 20:24:35 PDT, seller added the following information: Updated: I've checked the VIN numbers on the car and it appears we have a euro model 928S here, with the higher rated 4.7 liter engine. http://www.928registry.org/928%20Registry%20Master%20VIN%20info/Master-Euro-VIN.htmOn Apr-20-14 at 20:44:49 PDT, seller added the following information: Please - If you win this auction, we expect you will complete this purchase. If you need to see the car, contact me to come see it BEFORE the auction expires. Thank you for your consideration. Answering some more questions coming in for everyone's benefit: 1) We have limited documentation on the car. A good title and autofax report is about it. We don't have the window sticker, the manuals or a full history for the car, unfortunately. We are the 3rd or 4th owner. 2) Interior leather and dash is dry and worn. Dash is a bit discolored in a few areas, and the leather around the defroster vents is separating from the vents. The steering wheel leather is also dry along with the center arm rest. 3) The shifter is an aftermarket Momo shortshifter installed by a previous owner. It has an action like a rifle bolt - not easy, but gratifying to shift. 4) I started and drove the car today. It pulls strongly (definitely can feel that power band of the 4.7L kick in), but it idled a bit low and lumpy when I returned home. The car needs a tune up and thorough once over. I wouldn't plan to drive it long distance to get it home. If you're local, it will be ok. If you need to transport the car, either get it checked out before you do, be prepared, or have it trucked. Thanks everyone. On Apr-21-14 at 13:03:06 PDT, seller added the following information: More research on the car: This is actually a 1982 Porsche 928S Euro "Jubilee" 50th Anniversary Model (Aka Ferry Porsche edition). Has the unique interior from jubillee year with Ferry Porsche signatures on headrests. I believe there were only 140 of these made, and maybe less than three in the United States. See this thread for more info: http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/928-forum/372431-928-special-edition-ferry-porsche.html Registered and titled as model year 1981, but the VIN shows this as a 1982 Model Year.
