1983 Jeep CJ8 Scrambler AMC 360 V8 with Edelbrock Performer Intake, Holley Truck Avenger and DUI T-18 4 Speed Transmission and Dana 20 Tcase Dana 30 Front and Dana 44 Rear with 4.10 ARB Lockers Front and Back Dual Exhaust, BDS Suspension, Painless Harness, New Brakes ALL NEW body, ALL NEW Interior, ALL NEW Electrical etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., Listed for sale is a turn key 1983 Jeep CJ8 Scrambler that has been professionally and thoughtfully restored from the ground up with PERFORMANCE in mind! This Jeep starts instantly, and runs, steers, brakes, and drives down the road as well as any Jeep on the market today, and it turns heads in the process. Turn off the road, and it will tackle any task or any trail you care to throw at it: This 1983 CJ8 Scrambler has 128k original miles and a clear Virginia title. The mileage is probably irrelevant as nearly everything on this Jeep has been rebuilt or replaced. The Jeep has approximately 100 miles since full rebuild: · The original body was removed and replaced with ALL NEW METAL (brand new tub, fenders, grill, hood, windshield frame with new glass, tailgate, everything!) The Jeep is painted Infinity Autumn Copper Metallic, two coats color, two coats clear, and it pops in the sunlight! The bottom of the tub and wheel wells received fresh undercoating prior to reassembly. · The motor, transmission, transfer case, all fuel lines, brake lines, and wiring were removed, and the entire rolling chassis (frame, axles, suspension) was professionally sandblasted and coated with two coats of ZeroRust chassis paint. · The Front (Dana 30) and rear (Dana 44) axles are regeared with new 4.10 gears and ARB selectable air lockers in BOTH axles - A fender mounted compressor powers the air lockers. The ARB compressor and Front and rear locker controls are housed in an aluminum panel below the dash. · The suspension is a 4½ inch BDS leaf spring lift with full military wrap spring eyes, BDS shocks, and sway bar disconnects. Heavy Duty shackles and a 1” body lift give the Jeep approximately 6 total inches of lift. · The motor is a rebuilt AMC 360 V8 (4k miles) with an Edelbrock Performer intake, Brand New Holley Truck Avenger carburetor and DUI ignition with Live Wires. The motor was opened up, verified clean as a whistle, and resealed with new gaskets. It runs cool, smooth, and strong, no leaks! · The transmission is a bulletproof 4-spd T18 that shifts perfectly. The transfer case is a Dana 20 which also shifts perfectly. The flywheel was machined and reassembled with a brand new clutch kit (pressure plate, t/o bearing and pilot bushing.) · The custom dual exhaust exits through “inside the frame” headers, turbo mufflers and dual catalytic converters. The exhaust exits symmetrically as it should 45 degrees behind the rear wheels - Sounds fantastic! · The power brakes are brand new from the pedal to the pads. All new rear drum brakes, front disc brakes, stainless brake lines and braided stainless hoses, emergency brake cables, power booster and master cylinder are all completely new (drums and rotors were turned with new calipers, wheel cylinders, shoes, pads, and all hardware.) · The tires are brand new Dick Cepek Fun Country II’s (33x12.50R15) mounted on Mickey Thompson Classic II polished aluminum wheels (15x10). A matching spare tire/wheel is included. · The fuel tank is an oversized 20gal poly fuel tank with new fuel sender installed and all new lines, hoses and filters. · ALL electrical is brand new – The Jeep was completely rewired with a complete Painless wiring harness 10110 and all new ignition, lights, gauges, senders, and switches. The original dash was prepped and painted to match in Autumn Copper metallic – Everything in the dash is new including the Sony CD stereo with Aux/USB/iPod input and new Kenwood speakers. · The front bumper is a Dirt Worx Custom RockCrawler style hoop with angled ends, winch mount and 12k lb D-Rings. A new Rugged Ridge 10k lb winch is installed with remote. · The rear bumper is a Dirt Worx Custom RockCrawler style with swing away tire carrier, 2” receiver and 12k lb D-Rings. · The Jeep has power steering and includes a rebuilt column with new switches and an original CJ steering wheel. · The tub interior is seam sealed and painted to match Autumn Copper Metallic. The entire interior was replaced, including Rugged Ridge reclining front Super Seats (black denim) on stock CJ brackets (passenger fold, driver slide) and a matching fold and tumble rear seat (black denim). Front shoulder belts and rear lap belts are new. The matching Rugged Ridge center console and black Jeep Logo dash pad are also new. The floors are protected by Rugged Ridge floor liners. · The full Bestop Tiger Top with full soft doors and rollup safari windows is brand new. The Jeep also includes a set of hard half doors painted to match in Autumn Copper Metallic. · All body hardware and fasteners are stainless steel. Lights, mirrors, Mounts (body, motor, tranny,) flares, boots, knobs, hoses, seals, gaskets, belts, mats and miscellaneous hardware is new. This Jeep should be seen and driven to appreciate it - I highly encourage you to inspect it prior to bidding. This is not a show Jeep but it's darn close. While it wasn't built with the showroom in mind, it would probably be at home in one. It was built to look great but, most importantly, it was built to PERFORM.....and it will! The Jeep is sold as is, where is, with no warranty provided, only my word that you won't be disappointed.
