It is a 1974 AMC Matador coupe hatchback. VIN: A4A167A389320 VIN Decoded: A: AMC 4: 1974 A: Automatic Column Shift, 3spd 1: Rebel Matador 2dr. 6: 2dr. Sedan 7: Matador Group A: 6cyl in line- 258cc 4.2lt 389320: Kenosha Built This is Numbers Matching Car. Factory engine, transmission and drive train. It has never been through restoration. We received this car as impound 1 1/2 years ago. Owner decided to not recover the vehicle and we have not heard from him since. This car is sold with a bill of sale and it is in our legal possession. We could get a title through a mechanical lien but it is a 3 month process that we are not interested in doing. As of the condition of the car. It is in good condition for an antique that has never been restored or touched up. All body panels are in good shape. including, fenders, rockers, quarters, floor and trunk. There is NOT rust on frame nor suspension. (please see attached link for undercarriage pictures). The engine compartment is in good condition as can be seen in pictures. There ARE however rust spots. the rear bumper has rust on the right corner (see pictures). The wheel well has rust on the lower side and lower part of fender also has rust. also, small dent on the drivers door by handle. THIS CAN BE SEEN ON PICTURES. The rest of the car does not have major rust for the most part. The paint has some chips and pealing and might get some shine with a good buffing but it does need to be repainted, especially since some rust needs to be fixed. The interiors are also in good condition. the seats do not have any rips. The headliner is intact as well as door panels. The floor has rips from usage and year. The cluster is also in good condition. Radio turns on but it does not play. Mechanical condition: The car runs and drives but it has a misfire because carburetor needs to be cleaned up and tuned. We can see that it has fairly new plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor. Compression in all cylinders is good. The car actually runs and drives in its current condition as the misfire is not all that noticeable at low rpms. The engine does not have any knockings and does not burn any sort of fluid. The transmission shifts with no problems and rear differential is also smooth. The suspension, steering, braking and exhaust are all in proper working condition but they might need servicing as the vehicle has not been on the road for years. Yes! the car is drivable. but we recommend not to, which is the reason why we are offering free shipping to within the U.S. DEPENDING ON STATE.
