This is the 143rd T-bird ever built (actually, the 138th since the first five were factory design test models). So this is a first week of production car in the first year of production. Deserves a restoration due to enhanced value of super low VIN number. Here is the data:VIN: P5FH100143 Codes: 40A - R - B - 29J - S1151. Year: 1955It was a carport barn find and did not run for over 30 years. I am the second owner. I have it up and running now. Changed the gas tank, radiator, fuel pump, oil pump, oil strainer, water pump, water outlet, thermostat, hoses, some hard lines, master cylinder, carburetor, push rods, top-end engine bolts, rear shocks, tires, ignition switch, etc. So it runs (right now it does not brakes as I have the old soft-lines off and the replacements sitting on my workbench). (Please note that when I stabbed back in the distributor I got it off by one tooth so I had to move the spark wires over one position to accommodate; it runs like this but is hard to set the timing. I just do not have time to pull the distributor and re-set it. It runs but this is just a note so during a restoration the buyer can re-set the timing and wire positions to where they belong).It is an automatic with power steering and power brakes. I have the hardtop (which is pretty good condition and which I will put back on prior to shipping). This is a hardtop only car (no convertible top frame although convertible top mounting points exist on chassis). It has new tires with exactly zero miles on them. That said, it is a total restoration project. The body has lots of rust and kooky sheet tin work by prior owner when he worked on it over 30 years ago (which will need to be stripped off and done right). Interior gone. Chrome needs work. I have the bench seat but it is out of the car right now (it will be put back in prior to shipping ). It will also need an exhaust system (although the sound of it now is pretty awesome—except for the neighbors). See photos for condition; you are buying a restoration project. The pictures include a shot of the original production date and code chalked on the passenger-side frame box. The pictures also include the VIN plate so you can confirm that this is car #143. Please note that the engine hood that is on the car actually belongs to my 1956 T-bird and I will swap it back before I sell the car. So I took a couple of pictures of the proper 1955 hood (which is sitting on my 56 at the moment). I have never checked to see if it is a numbers-matching car but I am the second owner and the first owner claimed he never swapped out the motor or trans. So it should be the original 292 CID engine and drive-train. I will be happy to put the car on stands and give you a flashlight if you want to come to Honolulu and crawl around and confirm all the numbers.This car is in Honolulu, Hawaii. I have clear current title and the plates are "in storage" (which is how the Hawaii DMV allows a person to avoid registration taxes during a restoration). While the engine runs and the car has fresh tires, the car is not streetable and cannot be delivered as a running/driving car down to the pier for shipping. The buyer will need to arrange for the car to be towed from my house and containerized for shipping.
