Vehicle Detail
Mechanically perfect Plymouth GTX. 440 cu in motor rebuilt last year to better than OEM specs. 250 miles on the engine. Body is straight. No rust, not even underneath. Never driven in rain. Always stored indoors. Car is not numbers matching, but its condition is so nice it won the Manchester, CT car show last year - I'll even throw in the trophy when you take possession of the car. This is a vehicle that turns heads and starts conversations. There's approximately 67,005 miles on the car. I say approximately because the car is in storage, and not immediately available for me to check the odometer. The photo showing the odometer was taken some weeks before I put it in storage, so there's bound to be a few more miles than the photo shows. If you're a serious buyer, shoot me a message and I'll respond with the actual mileage and a photo of the current odometer. Interior is very nice. All instruments have been upgraded with new faces, electronics and wiring. Seats and carpet are essentially new. Modern AM/FM radio with USB port for your portable device (that way you can play your 70s music while driving). Door panels do show some wear, but they are very easily replaced should you decide to do so. Just pop them off, and put the new ones on. It's that simple. Exterior is also quite beautiful. New chrome all around. Paint is in excellent shape, with hard shell wax applied before it was put in storage last November (it doesn't get driven in Connecticut from November through May due to road salt and other chemicals applied during winter weather). A bit about the car's price. This is a NO RESERVE auction. The starting price is less than the average retail value of this type of car. So, I'm starting the auction at $20,000. If you get it for that price, you've truly gotten it for a steal considering this car is so beautiful and rare. So I'd ask you to consider these factors as you bid. 71s like this don't become available every day. Known issues: - Right turn signal does not work. It's been diagnosed by my auto electric guy as a turn switch issue. I've got the replacement switch that goes in the steering column, and will include the switch with the car. It's a simple fix. If it were a different time of year, I'd get it done for you, but I won't drive the car until road conditions improve. - Interior fan (heat/defrost) does not work. This is a small issue, but wanted to bring it to your attention. This car is very strong. You can come drive it home, though I'd recommend shipping it given the time of year. Check the photos! I've attempted to describe the vehicle as accurately as I can. Feel free to ask questions. PLEASE ask questions. :-) 4/14/14 Update: A visitor to the auction page asked that I provide the following info: The undercarriage is completely rust free. It's totally black under there. Suspension parts are in the same amazing shape. About the only thing that's not black on the underside of the car is the new stainless steel emergency brake cables. The rear end contains 323 gears. Weather stripping all around is also in good shape. All of the rubber is black, flexible, and not cracked at all. Lastly, the liner on the inside of the car is new. It looks beautiful! 4/17/14 Update: Here are the codes from the fender data plate (L to R, Top to Bottom): Top: V21 V7X Second Row: M26 M31 N41 N42 N97 R11 Third Row: GY8 U 811 C55 M21 M25 Fourth Row: GY8 P6X9 TX9 716 189245 Fifth Row: E86 D32 RS23 U1G 240617.
