1957 Chevy with a 55 grill, on a 1975 chevy pickup frame 327 v-8 motor 36,000 since rebuild Turbo 400 auto transmission, 205-transfer case, Rebuilt Dana 44 front end, 14 bolt Chevy rear end Custom tilt steering column, Rancho Lift Kit, 36x14.50x16.5 Gumbo Wide Monster Mudders dry rotted but good for mudding. One tire needs a tube. Bought another set of tires for working on vehicle and getting through inspection. There’s a minimum height from the ground to the bottom of the door – it’s right at that limit with the mudders on. Tilt nose provides easy access to the engine compartment – just remove 4 bolts and you’re in, probably inner fender wells also. Just bolted on the fenders and am in the process of returning it to stock. Looking for 1957 hood hinges right now to I can put on the hood. This truck runs great. Turn the key and it starts right up and goes. The guy I got it from told me he got the truck in it original form and did all the work himself except for the rebuild on the transfer case. Some of the things to make this truck worth a lot of money: -> The gas gauge isn’t working right, only ever goes to a ¼ of a tank even if it’s full. -> Temp gauge on the original instrument cluster does not work (because there are no guts behind the gauge). -> There is a ghost in the head light wiring somewhere, sometimes they work fine sometimes they don’t. -> It needs paint. It is now a purplish color, just the standard dings and dents nothing major. -> Floors are solid, truck in great shape for 57 years old. -> Passenger butterfly window cracked.
