Vehicle Detail

Very cool old survivor 1948 buick flxible hearse that has been around the south tulsa area since new from what i have tracked it down . .the old timer i got it from said he watched his grand father go to the cemetary in it when it was new . . . said it was a site when new . . . car was outfited with a 400 cubic inch pontiac out of an early 70's car with th 350 auto trans and a later model rearend out of same car way back in the 80's . . motor runs and car runs and drives but needs fuel tank cleaned . . some times after 5-50 miles it sucks up some crud and plugs up the fuel system . . . i have drove it about 150 miles in the last year because i havent had time to clean the fuel system . . . there is hardly no interior . . and the front seat that is in the car definately is not factory . . . overall the body has very minimal rust and damage . . . there is some surface rust as u see from the oklahoma sun literally baking the paint off . . and you can see where the old timer shot the right front with buck shot trying to kill a stray dog in his yard !!!! Car would be rather easy to start cleaning up and making dependable and bringing it back to its former glory !!! Please dont ask me if you can drive the car home . . i dont know your mechanical abilities !!! Clean clear oklahoma title in my name in hand . . . On Apr-05-14 at 15:13:51 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE !!!! After lots of messages and calls and with almost 2000 views and over 200 watchers I want to let everyone know that u can rear assured this auction WILL NOT be ended early !!! That would not be fair to the others and although there have been some good offers I want to let it run out .... That being said I want to post questions to a few common questions I am getting so that it helps other potential buyers and I will also be updating a few pics to show how solid the undercarriage and rocker panels are !!! Number one question has been length for transporting ... Wheelbase center to center is approx 14ft and over all is approx 21ft Brakes are power with the booster and mastercylinder being from the donor car and the front has a gm disc brake conversion on factory spindle ... Rockers are very solid inside and out up and down there are no holes or rust that appears to be coming up ... Frame is very solid floors are solid :... The rear if loot is metal perimeter and braces with wood inserts and there is no carpet over it so u can see it's solid ... I do have a front bumper and guards as well as some if the curtain hangers and the original center devider and a couple of the original coffin slides ... All this is included in the auctions ... Basically everything I have for it is included .., Also I just got finished running all new fuel line , rubber hose, new fuel filter and pump , fittings on carb and I pulled the fuel sender and cleaned the screen on it ... And now it runs without cutting out !!! The screen On the fuel pickup was the main problem .. There is some rust I. The bottom of the tank and it will need replaced ... I cleaned and bent the pickup. Up about an inch off the bottoms so it wasn't picking up the debris and now it runs and drives good and I'm sure it will be many miles until it cuts out or has that problem again but it is somethjng that will need attention down the road ... Also a popular question was do the doors sag or droop way down when opened and no they don't there actuall to pretty good and hit the a truckers correctly .. The very back door has to be picked up about a 1/4" to clear the bimoer guard but I think it's an is sure that could be addressed by adjusting the bumper .... Thanks for all the attention and messages I have had lengthy conversations with several that really seam like they want to restore it and get good use out of it !!! I'm glad to know that it will be going to a potentially good home ... And again if ur planning on making a bid in the upcoming days and always have that fear that the auction may be ended early and u won't have a chance please set that worry aside because everyone is going to get a fair shot as this auction is going the distance as they say !!! Thanks again for looking and good luck bidding !!!
