Vehicle Detail
This 1985 Carrera has had a considerable amount of money spent on it over the past few years (over $17,500....), making it a great example of a 3.2 Porsche 911 which will not need a penny spent on it for years to come (for example the brand new gearbox has less than 2000 miles on it). It is a Euro model and was imported into the US in the late 80's directly from Germany. As a Euro model it sports the narrower rear bumper overriders, has the more powerful tune on the 3.2 engine and even comes with the original Owners Manual written in German. Here are the details: 1. Exterior: The car was repainted approx. 5 years ago and garaged ever since. The paint is in excellent condition with the only exceptions being some minor scratches on the hood (I have included a picture, but it is difficult to see the scratch in the picture). The convertible roof is in excellent condition and as the car lives in Southern California, the roof is stowed permanently so never gets exposed to the elements. The plastic rear window is clear, though there are some brown spots appearing around the edges. 2. Wheels and Tires: Brand new tires on the car with less than 20 miles on them - they were only fitted a couple of days ago. The car sits on brand new 17" rims and the original factory 911 'Phone dial' wheels also come with the car. 3. Interior: Black leather is in good condition with no rips or tears. There are no cracks on the dash and carpets are all in excellent condition 4. Mechanical: The engine was completely rebuilt less than 20,000 miles ago (details below) in addition to most of the ancillary items being replaced. The gearbox has less than 2000 miles on it and naturally the clutch was replaced during the gearbox upgrade. 5. Suspension: Turbo tie-rods have been added, but otherwise the suspension is stock and rides at the correct factory ride height Details of the money spent on the car: Gearbox: New transmission installed by Charlie's Foreign Can (San Diego) - receipt for $5086 available (includes new axle boots etc.) Suspension: Turbo tie-rods installed by Charlie's Foreign Car (San Diego) - receipt for $1330 available Engine: Rebuild by Motor Meister (Downey, CA) - 3.2 Motor Rebuild Stage #1. Full list of everything done available. Receipts totaling $11280 available History: Service History dating back to 1989 comes with the car Accessories: Tonneau cover and car cover both come with the car So in summary, a desirable Euro model 911 Carrera which has recently had large sums of money spent on it, which lives in the dry Southern California climate and is in great overall condition. It's not a show car and there are some minor things which need to be fixed - the clock doesn't work (normal for almost all mid-eighties 911s) and the interior light is not working (possibly just a bulb). If you are interested in bidding, I strongly recommend you come and view the car yourself. If you cannot come and look at it, please send me any questions - I'm happy to give you any information you might need. Good luck bidding! Please Note: EBay would not allow me to enter the correct VIN for some reason. Here is the correct VIN for the car - VIN: WP0ZZZ91ZFS151472On Apr-02-14 at 23:46:46 PDT, seller added the following information: Note: Just realized the air con does not work - it needs a new belt on the compressor. I hadn't noticed before now until a bidder asked about it (and as the car is a convertible in SoCal, I've never needed it).
