Vehicle Detail
I have a clean 1964 Plymouth Barracuda for sale. Cosmetically I would give it a 8 out of 10. If your wanting a nice (somewhat mean) looking old muscle car, this will not disappoint.I got this car from an older gentleman who had it inside a warehouse of other cars he had been collecting. I traded him a different car I had (thunderbird) because this one just had a better look, and overall, it was a good deal for me. There is no rust on the car... Floor pans and trunk are clean and solid... Paint is fair (some cracking near the drivers side windshield wiper... Magnet check around the car shows no signs of bondo or rust. I can say that the car does sound good when its running, but not when its driving. The transmission needs to be rebuilt. It is a manual 4 speed + reverse, and has the larger engine package with the V8.If you are familiar with this model, you will recognize the manual transmission and the V8 being the more desired and rarer package from factory. The carb he had on it was far too much, so I put a fresh Edelbrock on it. I also put in a brand new battery. I drove it to my house from his warehouse, then to the gas station and back, so I don't have a great deal of experience with the car. I have a few other toys around the garage that take the bulk of my time (and money). However I did want to freshen this one up with the carb and battery so I could start it and let it run for a minute once a week. Also, a little bonus in the trunk in the way of some fresh break shoes when you might need them. This will make a great addition to any collection or a nice head start on a weekend project. I am not intimately familiar with the cars ins and outs, but if you have any questions, need more pictures or want me to look into something a bit more specific for you, please feel free to call or text @ 806 - Three One Nine - 1626 Other info on the Make / Model VIN = V447203980 ... There is also no breakdown (that I can find) on how many were shipped with the 273 ci V8 engine like the one here in the listing. Though with some research, it is a very rare combination as most are slant 6 motors and even more automatic. A total of 23,443 barracudas were built, and its safe to assume 961 (4.1%) of them were standard trans. Of those 961, how many were 273 V8's? I would love to know myself, but thus far I cannot find the info. My personal estimate based on similar orders from the year range would be around two to three hundred made with this combination of drivetrain.
