Vehicle Detail

Trying to give a very detailed description here but can answer questions about the car via email or phone. The car books at average retail for about $5200 on NADA....I am asking $3500 or best offer considering there are a few issues with the interior and a scratched hood. It would not take a great deal more money to put into this car to make it near mint condition....my guess is about $1500 for some interior work and repainting the hood and this car would look fantastic. I'm the 2nd owner of the car.... I purchased it in 1995. The car runs great and honestly has amazed me as far as I've never had any issues mechanically out of it....just your basic maintenance stuff that every car needs. I've replaced belts, plugs, changed the oil, etc but have never had any issues out of the engine mechanically. I need to sell it because I never drive it and I need the space back in my garage....I started to fix it up a couple years ago but realized I don't have the time to put into it and again, I just really need the space back. About 2 years ago it had been sitting for about 5 years without being driven so the belts were all rotted and it was the first time ever that I had not been able to get it started. I had a shop go and change the belts, plugs, tires, and even got it painted. So all that stuff is basically new and I haven't driven it very much at all in those 2 years. Long story short....it runs very well and you shouldn't have to replace any of that stuff any time soon. Now....since it is so old, there is obviously some little things here and there that don't work any more or have worn out. Below are things the buyer would either need to fix or simply live without. Sunroof - the crank for the sunroof broke about a year ago and since it hasn't been used in a while, the cabling for it might need to be changed as well. This is common on these cars and they do have replacement parts for it so it can be fixed. The crank itself will cost you about $70 and the cabling will probably cost another $50 or so. Interior - There's a big rip in the drivers seat and the arm rest is cracking up too. The back seat and the passenger seat are in okay condition but the arm rests in the back are discoloured from when it used to sit out in the sun. I had this looked at a year or 2 ago and it would cost in the neighborhood of $1000 on the low end to $2000 on the high end to have everything in the interior replaced or re-finished....that includes the carpet and all apolstry. The dash is cracked, however I puchased a dash cover specially made for that car that makes it look brand new...I just haven't put it on. It cost me $100 and obviously will come with the car. The lights on the dash no longer work, the gauges still work fine, but the odometer no longer works....it stopped at 281,897. I have probably put on about 8,000 miles since it stopped working so the car has somewhere around 290,000 miles on it at the most.....again, these engines go forever, it's amazing. Air - Air conditioning does not work anymore but I know exactly what is wrong with it. The condensor on these cars lock up if you don't drive them and use them. I know this because I had to replace it before.....I will have to look up what that will cost you to fix....I have the documentation somewhere. The cabling behind the dash is and has been damaged almost ever since I've owned the car. So the annoyance here is that you can't really transition the air to defrost or to your feet. It's kinda locked where it is. Not sure how much this would cost to fix, but it would involve removing the dash and re-doing all the cabling for those flaps. It's never bothered me too much so I've just never fixed it. They now have these parts more readily available online so it can be fixed. All signals work fine, however the right park light has not worked for a while....I replaced the bulb and it still doesn't work. Someone that can really dig into it could probably fix it. Hazard light switch does not work but is an easy replacement....you can order the part for about 15 bucks or so and easily install yourself. Exterior - I had it painted 3 years ago and it looked great....however there are some blemishes now. My wife sat some heavy boxes on the hood of the car and they scratched it pretty good. I got a quote to have that repainted and it would cost $345 to have that re-painted. There is one scratch in the back where one of my kids hit it with his bike....it's pretty small and not super noticable, but it's there....I can send pics of this stuff for anybody interested. There is also a dent on the driver side door that I may try to just pop out....it's pretty small and there is no paint issues there, just needs to be popped out. There is also a rip in the front bumper strip (the rubber piece - you can see in the photo)....they sell these for about $80 online and it can be replaced.....I just never fooled with it. Aside from the hood, the car looks exactly like it does in the attached photo's. Will take serious offers...contact me via email.
